After reviewing different alternatives to treat my back pain, I decided on Integrated Health Diagnostics (IHD) at 9420 SW 77th Ave Suite 101 Miami, Fl 33156. Being an excellent opportunity to try acupuncture treatment for my back pain and use it as my field experience. The practitioner is Luis Fuentes D.O.M. with more than 25 years of experience in oriental medicine. Dr. Fuentes is also a licensed acupuncturist who has been served Miami-Dade and Broward since 1988. On his practice Dr. Fuentes use a blend of Eastern/Oriental medicine that look for the root causes of disease and craft patient unique treatment with custom nutrition program and counseling for long lasting life style changes.
The principal consideration why I chose to visit Dr. Fuentes was due to all recommendations and benefits that many family members had been experienced with Dr. Fuentes’s medical treatments, they suggested seeing him to treat my lower back pain and other nutritional problems. As a nursing student I open to try different health treatment and moreover those which last treatment option are

When I stepped into the clinic, I was impressed by the installation’s cleanliness and inviting atmosphere. After registration and a short waiting period, Dr. Fuentes met me on the waiting room and asking me to follow him to his office. Another greatly impression on my first visit was Dr. Fuentes friendliness, in contrast with my typical experience at doctor’s office; he was not in a hurry to finish consultation. I exposed Dr. Fuentes that the purpose of my visit was one-time treatment school project; he was reluctant to take care of me. Subsequently, he explained to me his medical approach is based on “patient-centered” and information obtained from clinical testing he can design a personalized wellness program that evolves as a complete wellness strategy for
The intersection of health policy to the case of Senora Benitez is brought by social, political and environmental factors. First social, Senora Benitez with no children, husband who got laid off from work and a life in a trailer truck added in worsening the health condition of Senora. I think if only the husband can have work and if they have children who can support their needs it will be easier for the family to support the treatment needed by the patient. Political wise because of the surgeon who’s been wanting to have his own vascular surgery clinic and did a wrong surgery. Also it is stated that he started the patient on additional antibiotic, which makes the kidney of the patient to diffuse. I think because of the dream of the doctor the budget allotted to the patient was consumed and the hospital administrators became worried. I also want to assume that educational background was also not tackled, it is important to know that the patient is understanding the teaching well and know the importance of the treatment and possible outcome if not followed. Also, social isolation when the author described Mrs. Benitez not attending church and the only option for her would be her neighbor who barely let them borrow the car to drive for 12 miles. The distance of the health care center is also a factor and the reason why can’t do follow up
In 2009, Centura Health came up with a plan to transform the future of health care for their patients and communities. With their “Get better, get different” philosophy, the stakeholders developed a plan, Centura Health 2020, to not just revolutionize how they treat sickness, but to enable wellness through the entire system as well. This plan continues today with the goal of constant improvement for the patient, the patient’s family, and the community. This goal of transformation is built on three pillars.
This author met with a patient named JB to assess her current health status as well as her needs to ensure her health and well being or as she put it to “make sure she is her in the future for her children”. JB was an engaging and honest patient that had the eagerness and desire to improve her curren...

The word “chiropractor” has two word origins, the Greek words cheir and praxis; meanwhile, cheir means “hand” and praxis means “practice.” Also, most of the work that chiropractors do is done by hand (Pike para. 5). In 2002, going to a chiropractor was found to be the most commonly used program for therapy. Seventy-four percent, about 4 million, of people that had back pain went to a chiropractor to get treated. Among that 74 percent of people, 66 percent of them stated that they got “a great benefit” (Pike para. 9). Many chiropractors work full time but 1 out of 3 chiropractors work part time. Chiropractors work whenever their patients need them, even on w...

Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Sometimes the things I was writing didn’t flow well, or I might have even have missed glaring grammar mistakes.

Acupuncture doesn’t allow people to get ahead of themselves like Victor did; the way of thinking brought about is that of a natural sense. The techniques of the alternative medicine allow people to remember how magnificent and sacred the human body is and realize that it cannot be created through lab work or perfected through medicine. With Western medicine, patients can take up to four or five medications before finding one that suits their needs and most can have many life threatening side effects. With acupuncture, it is one procedure and one attempt to heal a patient with NO major side effects. Acupuncture is a unique ancient art that is backed by thousands of years of Chinese thought and research and has been proven affective for many people and their illnesses.
