Battle High School was the football team to win state 5A high school football their first year of being established. Somehow our team Lebanon High School ended up under the lights with them the following year. Through the years of football, I gained some super good friends that I played football with. I would have never guessed that I would have gained so many good friends/brothers through a sport like football. Lebanon Missouri is a football town, they strive off of football. I always remember when I was little going to the high school football games and being so amazed at how many people were there to watch high school football. Football in Lebanon was way more than a sport, it was like a second religion. So growing up it was always a big thing to play football. My football “Career” started out in mighty might football. I honestly had no idea what was going on. I was always the kid that everyone called the “bench warmer.” I would never get any time on the field except for the last few minutes of the game. After the mighty might football years, we soon moved on to Jr high. Jr high football was a big thing for us. This was the first time that we ever got to play other teams from other towns. Our coach always told us that fundamental started in our Jr high years leading to high school. No one ever took Jr High football seriously. It was just a joke for some people, but what we really did not know was it was teaching us to prepare for high school football. Jr high football went by really fast. We were not worried about football we were more worried about all of the girls. Football was just something we did after school. Soon after jr high football came along high school football, also came summer weights. Summer weigh... ... middle of paper ... ...out there, leave it all on the field” and we knew that 's what we were going to do. It was one of the heardest games i have ever played in my life.By half time the score was tied up 24 to 24. We had a real good chance of winning that game. After half Battle came back and turned on the heat. They ended up beating us by 12 points. In a district 's final game that is not a very big win. We were all so depressed after that game, but there was something that i still had, That was my brothers. The game of football made me the man i am today. That 's not the only thing it made me, it made me the greatest friends that i will ever have in my life. The game of football brought me closer to all of the people that played the sport with me since we were itty bitty. I would have never guessed that I would have gained so many good friends/brothers through a sport like football.
High school athletics leave a major impact on everybody that is involved with them. It also can even leave a mark on people who aren’t associated with them. There are many conflicting opinions on whether high school sports are a positive or negative influence on a student’s life. Athletics in high school can have an effect on the community as a whole. In H.G. Bisssinger’s highly regarded Friday Night Lights, high school football is accurately portrayed as the most important thing in Texas; it receives much more attention than academics. Football players are often treated like celebrities; yielding confidence, and at the same time creating pressure.
Abstract: High school football in the state of Texas has become out of control. The sport is no longer played for the sake of the school but rather has become a Friday night ritual to these small towns in Texas. The players are no longer just high school kids inter acting in school sports but have now become heroes to these small town communities. Communities simply no longer support their local high school team but rally in pride of their hometown rivalry against another team. School administrators and coaches no longer are teachers and mentors for the kids but are the equivalent to what in professional football are team owners and "real coaches". Parents have become agents and sacrifice their jobs and homes so that their child may play for the right team. Finally the fans, the fans have lost the sense that it is just a high school sport and changed the game to a level of professional sports. I plan to prove and show that for all these reasons Texas high school football has become out of control. It is no longer the game that it was originally meant to be.
How dangerous is high school football? That’s a question that a lot of coaches get asked. In reality they can not give a correct answer. Personally I believe that every sport is dangerous but, if you play the correct way it could be safe. Every sport has its tricks and ways of doing things the correct way. You can assure anyone that the sport their child is playing is safe, because there is always a stronger, bigger, faster player than them. Personally I believe football is a demanding sport that requires a lot of strength, and stamina.
Being a football player in high school will improve a person as a whole. They get it in their head what routine and scheduling is and how they will work around it to take care of their other responsibilities. They learn how to ask for help because they won’t always understand everything or be able to fully comprehend a certain play. They know what it is like to be accountable for something and take those mistakes and turn into something better. They gain self reflection to do well and to stay in that game longer by knowing that they need step up their efforts or fall back because of an injury. The boys will also learn how to trust in themselves and others. Most importantly they always have the urge to accomplish their goals, which is a great personality trait because no matter what they will put in their all to get where they want to be in life.
I honestly believe without football I would not have an identity since it played a crucial role in shaping me into the caring, smart, and passionate person I am today. Before football you could not pinpoint the difference between the herds of people who did not have a care in the world and myself. Ever since the 6th grade I frequently arrived to school tardy, got into multiple fights for no apparent reason, and often received disappointing grades; these bad habits became a daily routine that derived from the fact that I did not know any better. After being raised by parents who did not finish high school and never stressed the importance of school, I had no one to instill a moral compass within me. Anyways, at the beginning of my 7th grade year I was messing around in my Physical Education class when suddenly a football coach
Growing up in a small town, football had always been a huge deal to what seemed to be everyone besides me, at the time I would have rather stayed at home and wasted my life away being lazy. I started to play at the age of six to fuel my
...k now through everything. We should know no matter what we are put through, we can always come out on top. Our determination as a team lead us to do what many believe that we could not do, winning the state championship game against the nation number one team making the Pearland Oilers Texas Division 5A State Champions.. Even though the damages of football can be permanent over a long period of time it changed my life and I would do it all over again.

American football for youth emerged as a social benefit in 1929 when Joseph J. Tomlin, of Philadelphia, organized the first competitive youth football league called the Junior Football Conference [1]. At the time, society was experiencing an influx in youth vandalism; thus, in response to the issue, Tomlin’s solution was to create a youth football league to get these idle youth off the streets and into an athletic
Those hot days in those great summers football was my favorite pastime. I lived in a house with two sisters and no brothers the most close thing to a brother was my football some friends and the field.
Continuing involvement in football happens at the high school level because it is the most easily accessible program to teens. A teen will usually continue playing football in high school if they enjoyed playing or they really excelled at it in the peewee level. The good thing about playin...
In the beginning, there was football. The official said, Let the stadium lights come on, and they came on. The football players came onto the field, and they saw the light was good. Other teams started to show up and practice on the battle ground, otherwise known as the "playing field." Fans shouted, and cheerleaders went on about their playful acts. Parents, brothers, sisters, and close friends all piled into the stands to see the game of the year. The official stepped out onto the moist grass at Williams Stadium in Plano, Texas. The time was seven o'clock p.m. on a Thursday night. He paused for a moment, looked at his stopwatch, and blew his whistle. Gigantic muscular men came from out of nowhere as the fans began to cheer, waving various flags, and clanging cow bells. The bells sounded like a wind chime in an April shower, all different sounds at different times.
For as long as I can remember football has been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. When I was first born my grandfather said that I was solid and built to play football. I used to throw the football with my mother when I was a toddler and she always told me that when I tried to tackle her I hit really hard. My first organized football experience was when I was five. I had just moved to Manassas, VA from Washington, D.C. in 1994. It was around fall and that was right at the beginning of football season in the area. I remember telling my mother that I wanted to play, so she looked for a local organization for children. She came across the Greater Manassas Football League (GMFL) and that is where I began to play the game I love.
American Football is not merely a sport, its a culture. In the south football is in some ways a lifestyle. From the rivalries to the championships its truly one of the most exciting sports to have ever been created. This is why I love it so much, it is much more than just a game it has a much deeper meaning to it. From the outside looking in, many people do not fully realize the impact it has on each and every player throughout its history. Football has made me who I am today.
The training and practices required to play professional football are intense. You have to wear uncomfortable pads and helmets and endure grueling practices in the heat of the summer and you have to lift weights every day (Green 174). You have to train no matter what position you play. What’s important about is how the position works and how it contributes to the game.
