I am a teacher. Without the likes of me there 'd be no doctors, lawyers, engineers and a whole host of other professions. My area of expertise is special, maybe the most important subject in the entire world. I teach white kids how to act hood. In case you 're not familiar with the term hood perhaps it 's time you learned too, after all I 'm a teacher, and who better to learn from than me? You 've all heard the stories and seen the made for tv movies where a white teacher walks into a school in the inner city and changes their lives. That 's great, but our white children are lagging behind the black ones in how to act black. Without me there 'd be no Eminem (my prize pupil) or Macklemore, I taught him too. Most schools think the subject is "assinine" or "completely absurd," It 's hard trying to find a job, most schools aren 't hiring a white hip-hop expert. I remember walking into the office at Our Lady Virgin Mary the Bleeder Catholic High School six months ago and asking him for a job. At first he thought I was part of an elaborate practical joke set up by the staff, then he became paranoid and thought I was sent to see if he 'd hire me so the Archbishop had a reason to fire him. "I wasn’t aware there was an open position or that we even taught that subject here Mr...?" Said the secretary.
"Richards, but please call me Gary."

...d in his 25 years as an educator. I felt bad for him, the school can only do so much, the parents have to be involved too. In time, under my tutelage, I could transform these kids, it won 't be easy, but the Civil War wasn’t won in a day and white children won 't learn street culture overnight. But I like a challenge.
He wanted the weekend to think things over, but wanted me to talk to the parents of some of his students. The ones who were doing poorly in rap battles. Mr. Hummel said theses kid 's parents were very image conscious and if they thought the kids might embarrass them they 'd have no problem with my groundbreaking teaching. I handed him a paper I wrote in college about the white child of a wealthy Virginia plantation owner whose son wanted to be a black slave and went on to be a war hero. He couldn’t help but be impressed, he knew I was a professional.

Essay on The Teacher As A Teacher

- The teacher plays a crucial role in education because they are the initiator, facilitator, and assessor. The Teacher : The Good Teacher Essay

- “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” This quote by William Arthur Ward is perhaps my favorite message in regards to education and the role that teachers play in the lives of their students. Though young in age and with obvious faults, I make up for it with life experiences that sadden, amaze, and inspire those who are eager to listen and to learn. A brief description will show that growing up I was taught to be a “southern gentlemen”, that is to be respectful to everybody, have proper manners, and most importantly to be a hard worker....   [tags: Teacher, Education, Substitute teacher, School]
