In my opinion, I think this question is asking me about something that is personal because the question not asking me “who is Jesus” but it asking me “who is Jesus to me.” So that’s why I feel it is something personal. I think this question has something to do with my faith. The reason why I say that it’s because by answer this question people will find out whether I am a Christian or not, so this is the reason why I think this question has something to do with faith. For example, if I say Jesus was just a prophet, he was not the Son of God, then people would think that I am not Christian because that’s not what the Christian believe in.
To me, Jesus is God, Jesus is the savior of humanity. Without Jesus, I wouldn’t be alive today. I have

To me, Jesus is God, so my life depends on Him, He controls it. When I am in trouble or going through tough in life, Jesus is the name that I call for help. For example, when I was younger, my family worship different gods, and they had to do sacrifice every year. In these sacrifices, they had to give food to the gods, they had to kill animals to give to the gods. One year, my mother didn’t have money to do the sacrifice, so the gods were going to kill me because of that. I was sick for like two months. My mother had to borrow money from people to do what the gods ask her to do, in order for me to stay alive. However, when I become a Christian, things like that never happen anymore because my life is being control by Jesus, so other gods can’t do nothing to me anymore. Another example, when I was in Haiti, I was going to tough times, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t have a place to stay and food to eat because my dad was employed, and one night I prayed, I asked Jesus for help and he helped me out. In the same week that I prayed, my dad found a job and an apartment that was cheap for us to stay. I believe that Jesus answer my prayer. I believe there’s power in the name of
In this first chapter of Jesus and the Disinherited , the author Howard Thurman describes
Jesus Christ became human and walked with men and women. The Creator of heaven and earth became a creature and entered the creation that he made into existence. God made himself known so humanity could have the most basic understanding of who he was and Christ there would be no Christianity. Jesus taught mankind a high view of Scripture and inspired his followers and others to uphold it as God’s Word. (A Starting Point for Wisdom by Jason Hiles and Anna Faith
Luke 2:11 (NIV) states, “Today in the town of David a Savior had been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” This verse relates to my first point in describing who Jesus Christ is to me; He is my Savior. I, along with everyone else in this world, was born a sinner with no chance of experiencing any true hope of my own volition .
From the excerpt from the novel, “Under the Feet of Jesus” by Helena Maria Viramontes, the main character is Estrella, a young Spanish girl with a powerful desire to learn to read. Although she is persistent, her teachers refuse to educate her because they are more concerned of Estrella’s personal hygiene. This leaves Estrella resentful because of the barrier between herself and knowledge. Estrella remains silent until a man named Perfecto Flores teaches her how to read by using his expertise in hardware and tools to represent the alphabet. Viramontes depicts the heartfelt growth of Estrella through her use of tone, figurative language, and detail.
Jesus is the eternal son of God. Jesus died for our sins on the cross. Jesus took on flesh so that he could be one of our mankind, but he is not just man; he is God in flesh, the second person in the Trinity. “The son is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation for in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:15-16). Jesus is also the Lamb of God, as there has always been the image of Jesus as lamb being sactificial which represents that Jesus being the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (Martens,
Jesus was raised under Judaism and sternly believed in the practices and Jewish customs. In Luke 2:41-52, Luke reveals that Jesus went missing one time from his parents and was later found teaching in his town’s temple. For me, this story shows that from the beginning Jesus was a man of faith with the great ability of explaining and preaching God’s word. I honestly believe Jesus was placed on this earth to teach us unconditional and infinite devotion to God. He lived exactly as humans did. He experienced the same trials and tribulations, the same pains and pleasures of man, and, more importantly, he died to save us from our sins and show what true faith really is. His strength and power lies in his ability to not cave in to worldly urges and to exhibit self control the way God wanted it to be by never reacting with sin.
According the bible, Jesus is the son of God, and God is within Jesus whilst he is on earth. Jesus came to earth to preach Christianity. Jesus was the promised Messiah of Israel, and is often prayed to along with God. When having communal prayer, the speaker will close with “The Father, Son and the Holy spirit, Amen. Praying to the father (God), the son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost (Gods spirit within a person). Although the appearance and race of Jesus has been widely discussed for centuries, there is nothing in the bible to describe his appearance or race. Jesus was sent to earth as a baby born to Joseph and Mary and was raised by Joseph, his adopting father. [Who Is Jesus Christ - Biblical Answers To Questions About Jesus. Accessed 22/5/2014.]
One may notice his divinity by the simplicity of Jesus’ birth in the infancy narrative. The King of Kings was humbly born in a manger where the shepherds flocked to admire him. The angel said to them, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!" (Luke 2:14) One sees Jesus’ humanity through his innocence and grace at the beginning of his life. The reader may connect with the humanly tasks that Mary and Joseph must attend to before the birth of Jesus. Jesus was not born in a castle or elaborate setting, but a simple manger in the small town of Bethlehem. The modesty of Jesus’ birth is a source that anyone can identify with. Another example of his humanity occurs in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus prays to his Father and says, "Father, if thou art willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done" (Luke 22:42). One can sympathize with Jesus because of the physical pain he knows is about to unfold. The grief that Jesus speaks of is a sorrow that the reader can feel within their heart. Jesus’ humanity acts as the most intimate form of theology that people can connect with. His divinity reveals a different element to Jesus’ character which creates a type of awe that is a necessity in Catholicism
Before this semester I had never taken a moment to ask myself - Who is Jesus? It is something that I have never been given the option to question. Being brought up in a strong Christian background, where I went to mass every Sunday, and then following mass, went to bible school for two hours, ingrained a specific image of Jesus into my head. This image portrayed Jesus as a white man who preformed miracles for the poor and oppressed, and also sacrificed himself on the cross for all of humanity’s’ sins. However, after taking this course, I have been able to rethink Jesus in ways that I could have never imagined. It has become evident to me that there are many different ways to see Jesus. And with each of these contrasting views, there comes both biblical and rational evidence supporting each image along with criticism disputing each image.
It has been said that Jesus was one hundred percent man and one hundred percent God. This is a concept that is hard to understand if you do not have the scriptural evidence to back up this fact. The first reason that Jesus’s humanity is so important is that it was necessary to fulfil the covenant with Israel. In the Old Testament the prophet’s, priest and Kings all spoke of someone who could bring redemption to the world that they could not. In Acts 10:38 it shows how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” Even though Christ lived in the world he remained sinless and never once forgot his deity. When he received his anointing which was needed in order to fulfill the messianic purpose, he then was called Christ and Son of David.
Jesus Christ was the light that came to earth to brighten the lives of the people. He taught phenomenal and meaningful lessons that changed many hearts and caused people to accept Jesus as their Lord. Jesus Christ is the life of Christianity; the Word of God in flesh. His life, his ministry, and his crucifixion where prophesied long before he was born and Christians believe that they were all fulfilled. He had so much love for human kind that he came to earth to die for the sins of the people, so that their souls would be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The Bible testifies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who taught memorable life lessons and performed astonishing miracles during his ministry.
"Who Is God To Me" God means many different things to many different people. There are a lot of people who believe that there is no such thing as a God. There are people who believe that there is no God because no one has ever seen him. I personally believe that there is a God because of my faith. I have faith in God and I feel that God is real. I have many reasons why I believe in God and who God is to me. But I have three reasons that stand out for me about who God is to me. They are the following: God is always there for me, God is my friend, and God is my creator. These are my three most important reasons of who God is and what God means to me. God has never let me down in my life. Sometimes I feel that God has let me down or that He did not answer my prayers in times that I most needed Him. But I have to realize that everything that God does is for a reason. God has taken a few friends of mine from this Earth at a very young age. I have prayed to God and asked Him why? But I have never seemed to fully understand why. I have come to the conclusion that God works in mysterious ways. I do not think that anyone can fully understand why God does what He does. So for this, I do not feel that God has ever let me down. He just does these things for a reason and if you believe in Him, He will never let you down either. God is the longest lasting friend I have ever had in my life. He was there for me before I was born and He will be there for me after I leave this Earth. God is the best listener also. I can talk to God anywhere at anytime. Every time I want to talk to Him or ask Him a question, He is there for me. Most of my other friends are at least a phone call away, but not God. He has always been there in time of need, even though sometimes I feel like He is not. Even when I do something wrong, He is there to forgive me and set me straight.
Jesus was given many names. I think of him as the son of God, the prophet. I choose these names for Jesus because that is what I have known my whole life. He is the son of God. This has significance in my life because it helps nurture my faith. God gave his only son, to die on the crucifix, for our sins. I try to live my life the best that I can, but we all make mistakes. I have my faith to move on from those mistakes and move forward in my life, knowing they will be
to become one of us. Jesus walked along the same roadways and experienced the same trials and tribulations as other people. Accepting Jesus as fully human is as important as accepting him as fully divine. Jesus experienced stress, anger, frustration and loneliness but he chose never to respond sinfully to these experiences. Given the choice between popularity and telling people the truth, he chose the path that ultimately turned people against him and led to his death.
Historically, He is Galilean Jew that preached about the Kingdom of God. this included salvation, forgiveness from sins and healing. He taught about the kingdom through imagery, parables, and the supernatural. Jesus caused disturbances during times of tensions in religion and politics in Jerusalem. Temple guards arrested Jesus and took him to Pontius Pilate for execution where he survived his death and developed the movement of Christianity. Personally to me, Jesus is my life. He is the point of everything! He is my best friend, my brother, my Father and my husband. He is my lover and the source for me breathe. He is everything I need! He is the one who suffered for me, died for me, a became sin for me. He is my joy, my victory and my biggest romance. He is my hope, my fun, my confidence and my destination. He is the groom of my life, and He is the one whom I am in love
