The Hunger Games is a fantastic science fiction novel by the great and renowned American writer Suzanne Collins. This book is written in the voice of sixteen year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in the nation of Panem in North America. The Capitol is considered as the highly advanced metropolis as because this capitol exercises political control on rest of the nation. The Hunger Games in the book is the annual event in which one boy and one girl aged twelve to eighteen from each of the 12 districts that surrounds the Capitol are selected by lottery so that they can compete in a televised battle to the death.

Collins has successfully created a brilliant dystopian world that gives a treat to the readers. Reading the book provides concise as well as interesting discussions regarding the real world and how reality shows the threats of war, materialization and influence with fashion trends that affects the life of the people and authoritarian governments. This book is best suited to the teens and adults because the darkness of the story is best appealing and best suited to them. The book was very famous among the people and that is the reason that the book has received mostly positive response and feedback from the reviewers and even from the other authors. The book was greatly praised for its storyline and development of the character.

In writing The Hunger Games Collins has vividly described and drew the Greek mythology, the interesting gladiatorial games of Rome and contemporary reality television having the thematic content. The book became so famous that it won various awards such as the “California Young Reader Medal” moreover, this book was known as the “Best Books of the Year" in the year 2008.

This book is a must read for each and every one who has an open mind to what extent and reality the world could come to or to someone who would love to enjoys a fantastic dystopian world in the book. I personally loved this book and the rest of the series and I would love to read it over and over again so that I can relive and go through various emotions that the character in the book went through.
