Recommended: how could human trafficking be avoided

Human trafficking is a serious crime that has been estimated to have affected more than 20 million women, men, and children. Human trafficking has undoubtedly altered the lives of many people, and considerable international efforts have been directed to find a way to stop human trafficking. With human trafficking causing much harm to humanity as a whole, how can human trafficking be brought to a permanent stop? My research would include exploring information on the prevention of human trafficking, safeguard of human trafficking victims, and the prosecution of human trafficking offenders. My interest in human trafficking came about a few years ago when I learned that Atlanta was one of the worst cities in the country for human trafficking. While

A figure produced by the International Labor Organization (ILO) “estimates that 55 percent of the victims of forced labor are female, but in the case of victims of sex trafficking, that figure reaches 98 percent (Jägers 47). Human trafficking is a severe and all-encompassing threat to society and human rights that must be eradicated. One way to destroy the dangers of human trafficking is to learn of the prevention of human trafficking in order to avert from ever happening. Polaris is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that was formed to not only provide assistance to human trafficking victims, but to also supply knowledge on the prevention of human trafficking. Survivors of human trafficking are provided access to social services, transitional housing, and a safe haven for victims to receive help. Furthermore, Polaris reports that there are over twenty million victims to human trafficking, with over twenty thousand human trafficking cases reported on the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC), a national and toll-free hotline that victims can contact to receive support and information with the purpose of escaping and reaching safety from human trafficking.
