This paper will evaluate Human Rights and Social Justice issues, to make advancements in human rights, social and economic change. Through monitoring the website designed to address the problems mentioned above an understanding of the forms of oppression and discrimination will be discussed as well as the methods used to advocate in these areas. Through monitoring the website my knowledge of social, economic, and human rights issues has enhanced and aids in the conversation that I have with my field instructor throughout my intern. Before my internship, I was not aware of the existence of the Human Rights Watch website. The site was “created in 1978, is a nonprofit organization, employees about 600 people worldwide, which consist of attorneys, reporters, and scholars. Another advantage is the website is available in various languages”. Moreover, the mission statement of the developers state 's,“ Human Rights Watch defends the rights of people worldwide. We scrupulously investigate abuses, expose the facts widely, and pressure those with power to respect rights and secure justice. Human Rights Watch is an independent, international organization that works as part of a vibrant movement to uphold human dignity and advance the cause of human rights for all”. To further understand the significant impact of the Human Rights website it is important to highlight the accolades of the company. The site implements fact-finding strategies, by use of media outlets and addressing issues that affect people globally and are in need of advocation. These problems are published and put up for discussion in more than 90 countries.The Human Rights Watch collaborates with many different organizations such as the United Nations and other economic e... ... middle of paper ... ...nd balances. The case also underscores the importance of being able to hold our elected official accountable for their actions through our voting process here in the United States of America; Furthermore, the Constitution is structured in a way that no branch of government or elected official has sole control of the people or the countries affairs. The determination of the victims, survivors, and the judicial system in the case is commendable because to fight for the just treatment of people in an unjust political system takes determination, patience, and courage. The political process in Chad is run much different than our government here in the U.S. In the case of the ex- dictator power and prestige was not enough to stop the citizen of the country and the judicial system from working together to hold the dictator accountable for his deplorable actions.
