The occupation I have chosen is human resource management or HRM. This occupation has stood out to me ever since I’ve started business classes at the University of Southern Indiana. Going into business I didn’t know what to expect or what kind of business I would be interested in. I have talked and discussed this occupation with many peers, as well as, faculty to see what it has to offer. I am interested in many of the tasks and skills that are handled while doing this job. Being able to organize, communicate, and adapt to new situations have always been skills that I performed well. Learning briefly about this occupation has showed me the need for human resource managers in any industry. Knowing these important aspects about human resource management triggered my interest to see if the profession fits me. I am going into the field of human resource management for my professional career. Human resource management entails recruiting, interviewing, and hiring potential workers. By becoming a human resource manager I would deal with employee relations, training, and payroll. I would also arrange, propose, and coordinate an organization’s administrative functions. To become a human resource manager, one has to have a specialized education, training, and experience in human resource management all while following its code of ethics.
