Humans have a system that circulates through the body through millions of blood vessels, delivering oxygen to cells that require the substance. The system is consisted of a heart, lungs, different types of blood vessels including capillaries. The human circulatory system can be compared to a nascar racetrack, because the blood takes laps around the circuit, or the body. The blood does laps around the system leaving the heart as oxygen rich blood and returning as oxygen poor blood.
Blood leaves the heart from the right ventricle, a chamber where the oxygen poor blood flows. After it leaves the heart, the blood flows through the pulmonary arteries, which carry oxygen poor blood to the lungs, where the lung capillaries are. The oxygen poor blood flows through the capillaries, which is arguably the most important part of the circulatory system. It is more important than the heart because the capillaries are where the blood and body exchange nutrients, waste, and oxygen at the cellular level. “Nonpolar molecules such as O2 and CO2 simply diffuse through the epithelial cells of the capillary wall. The complexity of a human outstands an Echinoderm by far. Not only does a human have a more complex circulatory system, but also has a more complex body in general especially because of cephalization. The simplicity of an Echinoderm is very effective and in terms of evolution, “well thought out”, because an organism less complex wouldn’t need as large or thorough of a system. Both systems qualify as circulatory systems because they deliver interstitial fluid to body parts in need. A Human circulatory system is more complex because it has different organs, but in end result, both animals conduct locomotion in result of it.
