Humanity's Evolution: From Foraging Era to Modern Times

Some qualities of humanity have remained or altered throughout the years with the development of technology. There are a few customs that we have used during the Foraging Era, that we have changed for the better, and that have stayed the same. Throughout our human history, as trends come and go, our species keep moving forward and tries to improve its ways. We have truly impacted society in both positive and negative ways; however, we have portrayed ourselves as a strong, determined group of humanity.

Thousands of years ago, our species, Homo Sapiens, lived during the Foraging Era. According to the author of This Fleeting World David Christian, this era was the longest of the three eras of human history with 200,000 years compared to the Agrarian Era with 10,000 years, and the Modern Era with 250 years. There are many artifacts that scientists have found that have shown us the lifeways of our ancestors. Christian stated that studying teeth can reveal their diets and their lifestyle. For example, regardless that there are jobs for women, gender inequality still occurs to this day. According to Christian, a man can earn more money, be offered more jobs, and can have a higher education than a woman. As Christian stated, “Yet, true gender equality… still seems a remote goal.”. Another factor that stayed the same is global warming. It is a serious matter that can threaten many lives and has been worried about ever since the last ice age. However, not everything bad stayed in our world. For example, some of the first world religions, like Christianity, have been carried on throughout history and have given peace to some its followers. To conclude, many thoughts and ideas that have stayed throughout the history of humanity, still impact the world
