Human Activities Affect Chimpanzee’s Population

Nowadays, human population growth keep increasing and start to expand their territory to explore nature potential. They cut down trees in the forest to get timber for their needed. They don’t realize that they damaging animals’ habitat. Panda, elephant, and tiger are some of the animals that lose their habitat because of human activities. Human needs more spaces to support their developmental life. That is the main reason why human start to take over the forest for their needed. Humans start cutting down the trees in the forest without realizing that they broke other living things habitat. For example, they build a huge building for office, turn-over the function of forest to agricultural land and the most awful one, people cut down the trees illegally. The transition of life goes fast. As the human population grow faster, the food supply needed is also increasing. That is why people cut down the trees and change the forest for agricultural development. Because of that, many animals lose their habitat. Most of them move to another place to survive, and the problem that chimpanzees face are they cannot find food normally any longer. For their experiment, they definitely cannot use human for specimen. So they use chimpanzees as an alternative. According to WWF (,n.d), they found chimpanzee genes has 96% to 98% similarity with humans. It is the main reason why chimpanzees used in the experiment. For example, to find HIV/AIDS vaccine. Until now the researcher cannot find the vaccine for it, but many chimpanzees have been killed for it. Scientists know to find something new, they must sacrifice something. Scientists just focus on finding new medicine, without thought the bad effect for chimpanzee life. Indirectly, the made chimpanzees become endangered animal
