1. Whose values should be foundational within American education systems?

Throughout America, the education system relies on its teachers to educate its youth. It is extremely important that these teachers are developing the youth to become the best as humanly possible, because they are the future of the country. These teachers also need administrators to guide them along on their path to educating the nation. Administrators set the standards that the teachers must follow. These standards that the students learn guide them on a path of discovery of new knowledge. This new knowledge should be helpful and positive to create a society that has good values. Throughout most of the last century, students at Indian boarding schools were given poor examples of values from their educators. This was the wrong way to educate the youth, as the students do not have a good example to follow. This is why children spend most of their childhood growing up at school. The education that they receive at this time will carry with them through their lifetime. Nowadays it is essential that every man, woman, and child have a baseline of education to even survive in society. Reading, writing, and even the understanding of simple arithmetic must be learned to do the simplest of tasks like going to the grocery store to buy food. A decent education through secondary school and even college must be obtained to become a highly productive member of society. An educated community is able to prosper and thrive much better when compared to a community that has received little to no education.
