How to write Ads that Sell
If you have thought about boosting your business to the next level of success, then I would not bypass the advantage of writing killer ads that sell.
Advertising in general is salesmanship multiplied one hundred times and as you browse around the search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo, it’s incredibly noticeable to be attracted to ads, Ads that proliferate in each corner of the search engines for the sole purpose of making sales. Yes! Business success starts with excellent salesmanship.
In the advertising world, selling is accomplished by how words are assimilated together to catch the eye of the reader, using visual and audio. We observe this exposure on YouTube, Face book, Twitter, newspapers, magazines, Social Media sites and other advertising mediums to ‘whet your appetite.’
So the question on the mind of business entrepreneurs is: ‘how can we conceptualize an advertisement to produce it effectively, in the eyes of the reader?
The answer to the question lies within the ‘Ad laboratory’ of testing, testing, and more testing until one ad create...
Whether recognized or not, advertisements play a significant role on the way in which consumers make choices. Though society as a whole may not recognize the impact of advertising, commercials and good billboards are still noticed and enjoyed. Even colors are used a way in which to catch the eye of the consumer.
Advertising is as old as civilization itself. They are forever interconnected. If one changes then so does the other. So as our society evolved dramatically by the influence of technology and social media, so did the way we advertised. With the power of technology, advertising gained the ability to be everywhere at once. These locations ranged from billboards, to projector screens that hang from skyscrapers, to even in your homes in the form of commercials. The evolution of advertising in the modern world is both somewhat disturbing and innovative at the same time.
Postman states, advertisements were created to “appeal to understanding, and not to passion” (60). It is also stated that producers would make the assumption “that potential buyers were illiterate, rational, and analytical.”(58) Though Neil Postman makes it apparent that advertisers are not always truthful about what they say. Advertisers also tried to appeal to the masses by coming up with catchy slogans to lure people in.
Advertisement over the years have been very relentless with a few inventories for its expansion. It can be a very persuasive tool towards getting a result. GM uses a tradigital marketing strategy type of advertising which combines both the traditional way of advertising and the new age way of advertising which is computer based also known as digital. However, there’s always room for improvement. According to John Wanamaker, he stated that “I know that half of my advertising dollars are wasted…I just don’t know which half” (Rosenblum, 2011). It is known for years as an accepted truth that 50% of every advertisement dollar is wasted. Is it because we are doing too much or too little to convince our potential buyers? This is a questionable factor that need answers. I recommend changing the key performance indicators from a marketing to a business focus, create a superior experience that at the end of the day simplify consumer’s lives and create an educational platform.
A particular market executive said that the benefit of advertising to the company comes into play when company is giving ad campaign in order for the stockholders and investors to maintain faith in the company and keep the capital rolling in, to produce the products. Some marketers believe that their ads do not affect the consumer, but does affect the ways in which they are viewed by distributors and retailer (Schudson 2). Sales people do not want to sell products that they have not heard of before, and whether the advertisements influence consumers or not, the sales people believe that they do, which causes retailers to have that product in stock to sell. So even if the ad does not influence the consumer, as long as the ad can influence the investors, salespeople and retailers, the company will be prosperous. This produces product availability and that will shape the consumer
Analysis of an Advertisement We live in a fast-paced society that is ruled by mass media. Every day we are bombarded by images of, perfect bodies, beautiful hair, flawless skin, and ageless faces that flash at us like a slide show. These ideas and images are embedded in our minds throughout our lives. Advertisements select audiences openly and subliminally, and target them with their product. They allude to the fact that in order to be like the people in this advertisement, you must use their product.
For most companies, advertising can be a costly affair. On the one hand, customers are getting more information about new products, goods and services. While, on the other hand, it has to be effective, noticeable and remembered long enough to make potential customers into actual ones.
Analysis of an Advertising Campaign We are swarmed by advertising. Companies constantly battle to compete for the sale of their product. Adverts appear in every form of media including radio; television; Internet; billboards; newspaper; flyers and magazines. The advertiser wants us to buy their product above their competitors. The basic aim of advertising is to convince the target audience that their product is the best in the field and superior to the other products of similarity.
We see advertisements all around us. They are on television, in magazines, on the Internet, and plastered up on large billboards everywhere. Ads are nothing new. Many individuals have noticed them all of their lives and have just come to accept them. Advertisers use many subliminal techniques to get the advertisements to work on consumers. Many people don’t realize how effective ads really are. One example is an advertisement for High Definition Television from Samsung. It appears in an issue of Entertainment Weekly, a very popular magazine concerning movies, music, books, and other various media. The magazine would appeal to almost anyone, from a fifteen-year-old movie addict to a sixty-five-year-old soap opera lover. Therefore the ad for the Samsung television will interest a wide array of people. This ad contains many attracting features and uses its words cunningly in order to make its product sound much more exciting and much better than any television would ever be.
It is imperative to understand what does advertising do, before undertaking any research in the field of advertising. Advertising is a form of communication. It attempts to send a message to the target audience in order to elicit a desired

Advertising is simply everywhere, it is something that we can not avoid. Although we might ignore it when we are walking down the street, there is always something wanting to catch our attention. We have advertisements through radio, television, magazines, newspapers, and even on billboards. It has gotten increasingly popular in today 's economy because of how companies uniquely promote their product. These advertisements are created to introduce the goods and services to an audience to try and inspire them into buying their product. Therefore; when companies promote an effective advertisement, customers usually engage in a way if it appeals to their wants and needs. "The Essence of Breitling" ad in Fortune magazine
Advertising can mean many different things in today’s world. When advertising first was developed it was done by would of mouth and the classic flyer or poster, which is the traditional media. Then it moved up to using broadcast media such as radio to help capture a bigger audience. After that it moved towards the television where an even bigger audience could be reached. Lastly companies started to realize the shear amount of traffic that was generated by the Internet.
To sum up, Advertisement is one of the important ways to help the marketers as well as consumers. It is good for the companies as they can attract more consumers and as a result increase the profit of the company. It also has many benefits for the consumers as they can raise their knowledge and awareness and accordingly improve their lifestyle. Conversely, it may have negative effects on consumer behavior by creating unhealthy behavior such as alcohol consumption and lowering self-confidence by beauty advertisement. According to what has been written above, obviously, advertisement may have both positive and negative effects on consumer behavior. However, the positives are more noticeable than negative effects. Consequently, advertisement may be one of the best tools to distribute information to public.
