An Introduction to Roleplay-by-Post
What is Roleplaying?
Roleplaying is the name given to the collaboration of two or more people who act out a given scenario. In terms of play-by-post, this means that two or more players write out a short story, either as the initial post or in response to new posts. Roleplay-by-post is often done on a forum board, but it can also simply be done by emailing one another, though this means that the audience is limited to the players themselves. The result is a collaborative fiction, which other internet or forum users may read repeatedly, so long as the roleplay remains hosted on a server. This initial collaboration may give rise to other plots, and more interaction between players’ characters.
The Purpose of Roleplaying
The main purpose is to entertain. By writing a roleplay and posting it, other people can read it, and thus may find it interesting, and continue to follow those characters as the writers develop the plot and the characters themselves. The writer is entertained as roleplaying provides them with the freedom to act out their imagination in words. In this way, roleplayers are similar to authors, without the paycheque. As roleplay-by-post, participating in such interactions can give those whose first language is English a boost in their overall skill with written English. With a language other than English as a first language, writing English can be quite difficult, but interacting with tolerant players, who are willing to teach and not be condescending toward such a player can assist in a person whose first language isn’t English, in learning written English.

Character Development
This term differs from Character Creation, as it happens during your character’s time active. These developments are relationships between characters - who your character’s friends and foes are, for example. New abilities and knowledge within the scope of the roleplay “universe” also fall under character development.
Character development is an important aspect of roleplay. If your character doesn’t develop or evolve from where they were when you first started, then there’s not much story. It is important to build on their story, so that many people can enjoy their adventures and journeys.

Language plays a huge role in everyday life- connotation, denotation, etymology, idioms- all of these things come into play. We as English-speakers sometimes have trouble understanding certain expressions or accents- imagine the Price family trying to decipher French and Kilangan.
Character development is used to show what characters are like. This development allows the characters to feel 3-D and well rounded instead of a flat 2D character. Authors can make characters into anything they want by giving details on who they are and do not care what their past looks like. Don’t Think Twice, by Ruth Pennebaker, shows development in the protagonist by her becoming more adult-like.
Authors develop characters’ personalities in order to add depth to their story and allow readers to feel more connected to the characters. Beyond this, characterization also allows authors to develop the themes of their stories in a more clear manner. A prime example of this would be in the poem Judith, where the author contrasts Judith and Holofernes’ personalities in order to develop the major themes of heroism and having faith in God.
A dynamic character is one who grows and changes during the corse of a novel. Jefferson, in Ernest Gaines’ novel A Lesson Before Dying, is an example of a dynamic character. Throughout the novel, Jefferson grows and matures from a life where he considers himself a hog to a life where he realizes he can defy what is expected from him.
Dynamic character is a literary or dramatic character who undergoes an important inner change, as a change in personality or attitude. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Scout is an example of a dynamic character. Throughout the novel Scout’s perspective on the world changes, turning her from an innocent child to one who understands life’s difficult issues. Scout’s view on Boo Radley changes from looking at him as a villain or a criminal to at the end Scout’s looks upon him as an adult who is a very nice gentlemen. She starts picking up clues throughout the book. First he put presents in the knothole, second he puts a blanket on Scout, lastly he saves their lives. Scout perception on Boo Radley changes,” 'Mr. Arthur, bend your arm down
If the adult’s first language isn’t English it is necessary to provide a translator if the information that we are communicating to the adult is difficult to convey. Some parents might not want their children to be part of a play, it’s important that you adapt your communication is a way to explain that it’s an important part of their curriculum.
Adaptability is one of the greatest assets people can have. Some people see it to themselves and some don’t. Though, skepticism about self-adaptability is nonexistent. Knowing about self-capability may be hard, but without even realizing everyone adapts something throughout their lives. For instance, making friends requires a person to spark a common interest. When that friendship grows, it makes it harder to break apart forcing the person to conform accordingly. Other examples can be seen in films such as “Lion,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” “Moonlight,” and “The Man Who Knew Infinity.” By knowing a character’s change, viewers will be able to perhaps realize and connect among themselves about what changes they have done in their lives.
Zachary is a kind, intelligent but slightly obsessive young man. He is a developing character because throughout the story you discover different aspects of his character. His character seems very predictable it turns our that his actions are unpredictable in the end. The story ends with a twist, which explains his actions throughout the story.
Authors use character development to show how a person can change. Through a descriptive portrayal of a charter and their development they become real to the reader. A well-developed character stirs up emotions in the reader making for a powerful story. A person can change for better or worse and Nathaniel Hawthorne shows this thru the character development of Hester, Chillingworth, and Dimmesdale in The Scarlet Letter.
Development is a term that has many definitions, but for this particular section it is referred to pattern of changes that happens in a specific order and it develops of the lifetime of a person as they go from the different stages in their life cycles. People continue to change throughout their life, but the most important changes occur during childhood and adolescence. When teens drink during this time of their life, it can affect their developmental process (Brown et al., 2009).
Primarily, language usage is the main tool for learning and expressing one’s ideas or beliefs. Our language is what composes our existence and has been with from the day we were born. In the book, The Skin That We Speak by Joanne Kilcour Dowdy, the author depicts an experience as a young child when she was living in Trindidad. She was speaking the “Mother Language” or the Standard Language. She was instructed by her mother to not speak her own language out in public. So one day she was playing ball and hit the ball over a fence and declared that she hit it “over there”. Here was a time when she felt good about her physical achievement but instead her peers began laughing at her pronunciation of these words. This had a lasting effect on this author’s self-esteem and her place in society. Development is the act or process of growth of humans throughout the lifespan, improving quality of life and expanding real freedom that people enjoy. Development is a process of extending the true opportunities and real freedom that people revel in. Concentrating on human opportunities and freedom appears differently with relation to narrower perspectives of improvement and development. For example, identifying development with the advancement of gross national product, or with industrialization, or with the rise in personal incomes, or with the ascent in particular livelihoods, or with technological advancement or social modernization.
The first area of development that I will be talking about is my physical development. Physical. Physical development is the growth and development of gross and fine motor skills. A child’s eating habits, and healthy living affects their physical development so they are key. An example of when I had a physical development was when I took my first steps and then started walking after. Another example would be when I rood my bike by pedaling and steering my tricycle. Physical development is good because it is important to a child's life. All children have to grow properly or else it will affect their life in a negative way. without physical development a child can't do many simple things in life like walk, talk and see.
The development stages of an individual's lifespan are one of the most essential phases they can go through. During these stages the individual goes through not only physical maturity, but also cerebral, behavioral, and poignant growth. A character I have chosen is Sasuke Uchiha, one of the protagonists from the famous anime Naruto. In the anime Sasuke’s own brother kills off their whole entire clan by order, and leaves only Sasuke to live. Sasuke grows up hating his brother, and develops hatred throughout his childhood towards everything. Throughout the whole anime it is shown clearly how Sasuke developed, and how his choices affected his life.
