In the PTT program there are many certain ways to be successful and how to do it, so here's some ways to help you get the career of your dreams. The two main points to help are How to become a successful Physical Therapy Technician and What kind of PTT that you want to strive to become and Path to achieve that goal.
The importance of the guidelines of the College Student Handbook are three valuable rules to help us better our success in the PTT program and or field. The three main precautions are Covering tattoos, Uniforms, and Professional Behavior. The first is covering tattoos, tattoos are an importance in the medical field to keep them covered because we don't want the clients thinking we are juvenile when we are not. The second is Uniforms. The uniforms we are provided with are scrubs, the scrubs need to be wore throughout our educated year with tattoos covered if students have them. The third is professional behavior. Professional behavior is a must in a field dealing with patients one-on-one, if you go to work each day with a bad attitude then you won't receive many patients. The handbook says, “1. Use professional and courteous language. Profanity is not acceptable. Slang is not deemed professional in the health care workplace. 2. Outbursts of anger, confrontations, arguments, and fighting are not acceptable.” How I became interested in Physical Therapy was from getting injured playing sports, coaching a youth city league, and to finding a professional job. One thing that got me interested was from me getting injured a lot. I injured my left ankle so many times and having to go to a doctor to get it checked every time was a hassle because it was like they told me the same stuff to keep it from getting wo...

An education is a foundation for many people lives. Having an education will develop social interactions, help students become more creative, it aids us to contribute to the economy and prepare us for of career. A physical therapist must be able to handle the school work that is given to them. When applying to a DPT program your minimum prerequisite GPA must be 3.0, which I exceed. You must also take the GRE and have at least average score of one-hundred fifty. This will also look very good when applying to a DPT program. Then you must have observation hours. Some school may accept fifty hours, and other may take one-hundred and more. So far I have been able to complete over sixty hours of observation. I have been able to Prepare the treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. I also help treat patients by applying heat packs, assisting patients into a whirlpool, monitoring their motion, measuring mobility, performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as an example. All of these assets I learned from my observation gives me an advantage on to become a successful physical therapist. In addition, to become a successful physical therapist you must have the proper resume as well. In every career, you have to provide your profession with a resume which must contain every feature about yourself to show why your a better fit than the rest. Your resume

...es a great education/training and particular traits. The main education needed to become a physical therapist is a Doctor of Physical therapy degree (DPT). Being compassionate, detail oriented, dexterity, having interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and being resourcefulness are important characteristics to being a successful physical therapist. Being a physical therapist is w=hard work and I now have full respect for the people who have this job.
People who have been in accidents or having disabling conditions turn to physical therapists, commonly called PT’s, for help. Physical therapists are professional health care providers who are licensed in each and every state they practice. Physical therapy has a long history of returning people to their maximum level of physical function. Physical therapists use a variety of techniques to restore a function, improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent physical disabilities in their patients. However, being a physical therapist also has many downfalls such as dealing with patient’s insurance, motivating patients, and dealing with criticism in the workplace.
Here are a few characteristics or traits you could have to make being a PT a lot easier. First is being compassionate for your patient and being concerned about their health. Detail oriented, being very observant when it comes to diagnosing a patient's needs and the treatments he or she may need. Being able to use your hands and feel comfortable massaging people and assist to their physical needs is called Dexterity. Interpersonal skills is also a great trait to have, according to bls.gov, “Because physical therapists spend a lot of time interacting with patients, they should enjoy working with people. They must clearly explain treatment programs, motivate patients, and listen to patients’ concerns in order to provide effective therapy.” Physical therapist spend a lot of time on there feet and they help patients do their exercises so physical stamina is a outstanding characteristic to have. Also according to bls.gov resourcefulness is a characteristic to have because, “Physical therapists customize treatment plans for patients. They must be flexible and adapt plans of care to meet the needs of each patient.” Lastly, time management skills, PT’s treat a lot of patients each day in order to give each patient the proper time he/or she needs and get other task done throughout the day you need great time management skills(“Summary”).
Entering my first year of college I didn’t have any idea of what I wanted to do. I still didn’t choose a major let alone a career. I was stuck in between wanting to make enough money that my family would be taken care of financially and choosing a career that I wouldn’t mind going in to work every day. The one thing that I was certain of was that I wanted to be able to help people in whatever I chose to do. After careful consideration and exploring the options available to me, I have come to the conclusion that I want to have a career in physical therapy. Physical therapy is the treatment of disease, injury or deformity through physical methods rather than through drugs or surgery.
With the help of my family and employers, I resign from my job and enrolled into the University of Houston-Clear Lake. They motivated me into taking the first step into my professional career in where I achieved my bachelor’s degree in Fitness & Human Performance. It was there that I was given the opportunity to do my internship at Proactive Physical Therapy (PPT) and see hands on what to expect in a PT setting. To be a part of someone’s rehabilitation journey, from the moment you first see them at their initial evaluation, to when they are graduating and being discharged, is an incredible feeling to be a part of. A Physical Therapist often encounter patients that are at the lowest point in their life in which they would have to teach, coach, listen and motivate the patient to rehabilitate them. When TW came in for PT, he was down on himself because he had
The medical field is expanding ever so rapidly in today’s society. In the field of Physical Therapy one needs to have the understanding of how the human body works and the injuries one body could sustain. I have chosen a career to help others to battle back from life-changing injuries or surgeries. I will take the first step of joining the medical field by obtaining a physical therapist associates degree. I will become a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Physical therapy has recently become one of the most sought out professions, which is why it is now even that much harder to become one. A physical therapist is one who will provide treatment for one to maintain or restore maximum movement; while it is a fascinating profession this research essay will not focus on the actual profession. Physical Therapy is obviously associated with injuries, but let’s discuss the schooling behind the profession, how long do you assist a seasoned Physical Therapist, and what is the salary for a physical therapist.
While there were many differences between each setting, there were also several commonalities. In all settings, the physical therapists provided care that was professional and skilled. They worked collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide the best care possible for each of their patients. They strived to establish rapport and trust with each patient. Each of the settings I observed provided me with insights to the field of physical therapy and convinced me that this career is the right choice for
From a young age I was interested in the medical field. As I became more exposed to the various options, I decided physical therapy was the right career for me. My experience has proved the field to be interesting and fun. I enjoy working with people and the versatility of therapy. There are many areas to specialize in and I look forward to learning which one is right for me. At the moment I am interested in pediatric acute care but I am also interested in sports and orthopedics. As I continue my studies, I look forward to learning about the different fields in which physical therapy will take me. My future views may change which physical therapy field I wish to pursue, but right now I look forward to learning as much as I can about physical therapy and helping others.
I’ve always want to be something in the medical field since I was younger, but physical therapy never came across my mind until I was told by a friends mom that it was something she could see me being very good at. Ever since then I’ve been interested in it. Physical therapist think of and follow through with treatment plans for people who are injured or have an illness to help them move better, increase their strength, and/or relieve pain. I think I would be a good fit for this job because I enjoy working with people and I am very patient with people.
Physical therapists play an integral role in health care. The vision statement for the physical therapy career is: “Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience”. 1 Through my prior volunteer and work experiences, I discovered that physical therapy was the perfect career choice and vision for my future. As a current student and future physical therapist, I will play an important role for society and within the health care profession. The vision statement will serve as my reminder to always strive for more knowledge and feedback as a student, uphold pertinent values that will improve the practice of physical therapy, and to always provide quality care to all patients.
