How to Focus on your Studies: Key to Success

Many students now fail to know on how to focus on their studies, and because of that ignorance, many students are failing on their grades. Many students now chose to stop on their studies because of addiction on computer games, vices, and the bad influences of their friends. There are many things that can take away our focus on our studies, but the question is: Do you have the guts to stop your bad habits like computer games, vices and hangouts just for your studies? And if other students are wondering on how to focus on their studies, I think the best way for them to focus is to have the key to success, which is self-discipline. In this research, you will know how to focus on your studies and get a better grade by having self-discipline on yourself.

What is Self Discipline?

According to Study Guides and Strategies (1996), Self-discipline is considerable as a type of training, creating new habits of thoughts, action, and speech toward developing yourself and reaching goals.

Discipline is freedom. For many people, discipline is a nasty word that is connected with the absence of freedom. As Stephen R. Covey once wrote, “the undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites and passions”. Self-discipline demands doing according to what you “think” instead of how you “feel” in the moment. Self-discipline involves letting go of the pleasure and thrill of the moment for what matter most in life (Pick the Brain, 2008).
