The European Football, or soccer, as Americans call it, is simply known as football. It is a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a sphere-shaped ball. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries, making it the world’s most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The purpose of the game is to score by using any part of the body besides the arms and hands to get the ball into the opposite goal. The goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with their hands, while it is in play and then only in their penalty area. ’’Outfield players mostly use their feet to strike or pass the ball, but may use their head or chest to strike the ball as an alternative. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is equal at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time or a penalty shootout depending on the format of the competition. The laws of the football game were initially classified in England by The Football Association in 1863.’’
2. GAMEPLAY
Association football is played in agreement with a set of rules known as the ‘Laws of the Game’. The game is played using a sphere-shaped ball of 71 cm circumference known as the ‘football’ or ‘soccer ball’. Two teams of eleven players each participate to get the ball into the other team’s goal, thus scoring a goal. The team that has scored more goals at the end of the game wins. American Football is a huge spectator sport where offensive and defensive players will use teamwork and perseverance to try and score more points than their opponent. Football is highly respected in America, where boys will try and pursue the dream of playing in the NFL (National Football Association) someday; but if you look at an average neighborhood, you will find that kids and adults of all ages love to go out and throw around the pigskin. This report is going to be on the game Ice hockey. A game of hockey is divided into three twenty minute time periods that are called periods. Between each period there is a fifth teen minute intermission. In hockey there are several ways a game may end if there is a tie at the end of regulation. The pros use one twenty sudden death period in which the first to score is the winner. In the amateurs they use a shoot out in which five players from each team are selected and allowed to go one on one with the opposing goalie and which ever team scores the most goals after all five members for both teams have taken their shot they are the winners. If there is a tie after this it keeps repeating until a winner is crowned.

In the world of sport, soccer and football with respect to demographic has had numerous controversies. Although both sport are known famously around the globe, for many years fans from both sides are known for asking, is American football same as soccer? What’s the time limit on both sports? What’s the game objective? Do they use the same ball? However they both have similarities and differences which I will be talking about in this essay.
First of all, you must take control of the ball and decide what to do with it. You only have two options. You either carry the ball on your own trying to score for your team or you pass the ball and move to get back the ball. Second of all, you need to use the inside of your foot to be more accurate. With you knowing what part of your foot use, choose the person you are passing the ball to. To choose who are you passing the ball to, make sure your teammate is open, that there are none of the opposite players near your teammate, and that your team will make a smart play to score. In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. However, there are similarities, such as the fact that both sports allow eleven players on each team to play on the field at a time. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
