How many college students do you know that just attend college? Does nothing else no work and get their finances handled by parents? I say the chance are very low a college student is just a student. However, it is said that nearly half of all undergraduate students hold a job that is a lot no? So how is it that we are supposed to give almost 45 hours a week to just focus on school alone. Is that even possible? What happens to everything else we have going like working full/part time, having a family and relationships. Where do we fit all of it in to the little time we have day in and out? We only get 24hrs in a day so that’s 168hrs in a week. You attend college full time which consist of 12-15 credits can go up to as much as 18 credits. At Nassau Community College a typical 3 credit course meets 2 days a week for an hour and fifteen minutes each day. If you take a course worth 4 credits that consist of having both lecture/lab section, then in addition to those 2 days you add on a third day. Such as time you spend traveling to school/work. Let say you drive it takes you about 20-25 minutes to get to and from school and another 30-40 minutes to get to and from work from home. You go to school three days out of the week and work 4 days you spend on average 3 hours to 4 hours traveling. Then there is rest typically you are to supposed to get a healthy 8 hours of sleep daily but who actually does? You get on average 7 hours each night, that’s 49 hours a week. So with all this taken into account you are left with 35-39 hours a week for you to do with as you please. Unless of course you schedule changes and you don’t have work or class on certain days. Nonetheless those 35-39 hours you can spend with your family, friends, partners or you can just have someone alone
