There are numerous reasons for discrimination and bullying in the work place. One of the reasons is Homosexuals. Most people find them to be wrong for what they do, even though they do not affect the Heterosexual population at all, because it is written in a book that is over a thousand years old. Some are even called abominations. They are often hated by society and can often be turned down and be refused of a type of service due to their sexual orientation. Today, most Homosexuals or Same Sex couples do not have to live in fear of these problems, but that does not mean that the discrimination doesn’t exist. Most of America is still split on the decision of whether gays can or can’t marry. Now this problem doesn’t apply to the whole world because some countries like Canada do allow same sex marriages. An Insight on the News Article said, “As outrageous as it may sound, gay marriage will greatly improve the lives of heterosexuals. It will reduce the number of divorces caused by fraudulent marriages, ensure that more orphaned children grow up in stable and loving homes, raise the standard of living for children with gay parents, make neighborhoods safer for families and boost the economies of straggling communities.” There should be no question as to whether or not the Same Sex couples can get married. There is no real reason they should not be allowed to marry.
North America does not completely deny Homosexual rights and same sex marriage. There are a few states that do allow it that include the states: Maine, Maryland, California, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, Delaware, New Jersey, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. North America is not the only country that does not allow gay marriage. Many o...

Gay marriage is a hotly debated issue in today's society. Andrew Sullivan and William Bennett offer opposing views in the June 3, 1996 edition of Newsweek. Sullivan's article, “Let Gays Marry,” offers several arguments supporting the issues of same sex marriage. Bennett counters in his article, “Leave Marriage Alone,” that same sex marriages would be damaging to the sanctity of marriage. Each author presents several reasons for the positions they defend and bring up valid points to defend their opinions. William Bennett and Andrew Sullivan share a mutual respect for the values and sacredness of the bond of marriage. Their disagreements stem from who they believe should be allowed to marry.

In the recent years, the LGBT rights movements have gained momentum both in the States and internationally. Not only are more people in favour of LGBT rights (particularly same-sex marriage, as recent polls have shown), they are also seeing through the flawed nature of arguments set by those opposed to said rights. This research paper will be discussing ten of the most common arguments presented by opposers of LGBT rights (particularly expressing identity and marriage laws), as well as outline why each are easily flawed and refutable.

There are many opponents of gay people as it is, and they all have their reasons to dislike the idea of permitting them get married. One of the main reasons is that the primary purpose of marriage is procreation. Because gay couples are unable to have children, they should not be allowed to marry (Schiffen 495). Another main argument is that the word marriage means the union of one man and one woman. This is a long-standing theme of most major Western religions. Under a proposed bill known as the Defense of Marriage act, marriage is defined as “a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife.” Furthermore, it defines a spouse as “ a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or wife” (What 1). Under these guidelines, it is quite obvious that gay couples would not be eligible for marriage. People against homosexual marriage also say that it is a person’s choice to be gay. Since the individual chooses to be a homosexual, they should not be given special privileges. Another argument that you hear is that these couples should not get married simply because of the torment and ridicule they would be faced with in their everyday lives. There are news reports from across America telling about how a gay person was beaten or killed just because they were looked at as different. Some of these people would end up the target of verbal abuse and maybe even physical abuse, just because some heterosexual people see them as different.
Same sex marriage is a very controversial topic in today’s society. We live in a society filled with ignorance. The ignorance that poisons the minds of people that oppose same sex marriage blinds them from the reality of the “problem”. People argue that same sex marriage should be illegal for reasons that will have no negative impact on their lives. The reality of this topic is that legalizing same sex marriage promotes the increase of adoption, human rights and equality, as well as the separation of the church and state.
Lutzer there will be a great chance to writing a perfect argumentative and persuasive essay. “It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” By Confucius. In a great argumentative essay, pros and cons will be discussed with great detail, hoping to change minds of some. Maybe not being able to change everyone’s opinions towards same-sex marriage, but to get them to look at it in a different way. Whether they praise it, or are just disgusted with it, maybe my essay will show them not to express themselves so harshly. Being harsh is what is making our world a horrid place, especially to raise our children. My full research and heart will come out onto display to possibly alter the minds of some of the pessimists that cannot seem to stand down. According to williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu, “The number of legally married same-sex couples in the United States has tripled in the last year. The new estimate suggests that 390,000 out of nearly 1 million same-sex couples are married.” Could you imagine how many happily married same-sex couples there would be in the United States if it was legalized everywhere? Words cannot express what this topic means to me, since there are gay relatives in my family, this becomes personal. It is a very sensitive subject for some, but for ones that are bothered by same-sex marriage no offense. Being against, or with the same-sex marriage, you will find a complete biased opinion. Gays are great. Most of them have a great personality because they know how hard they are working to get respect from people. Even though there are so many obstacles in their path, they never seem to lose
