The Holocaust: Death of Millions

The Holocaust was a time of death and discrimination. “Since 1945, the word (Holocaust) has taken on a new and horrible meaning: the mass murder of some 6 million European Jews (as well as members of some other persecuted groups, such as Gypsies and homosexuals) by the German Nazi regime during the Second World War” (“The Holocaust”). The Holocaust was an important time in history and there is a lot to learn about it, Nazis transported discriminated to labor camps, death camps, or killed using other methods. Hitler also developed what was called “the final solution,” it was the solution to the “Jewish problem” and it was the mass killing of millions of Jews and it was carried out during the Holocaust.
To begin, the Holocaust was a time where certain groups of people were discriminated against and as the Holocaust progressed, they were killed. To Hitler, the perfect race was blonde-haired, blue-eyed Aryans, he also called them the master race, and everyone else was inferior and was discriminated against. The most famous group of people discriminated against were the Jewish population. The discrimination against the Jewish started small and gradually progressed. “They were removed from schools, banned from the professions, excluded from military service, and were even forbidden to share a park bench with a non-Jew” (“The Nazi Holocaust”). There was also organized propaganda that portrayed the Jewish people as the cause of all of the world’s troubles and as the enemy. The Holocaust was lead by Adolf Hitler, the fuhrer of Germany, who came into power in 1933.
