Dentists have been around for thousands of years. Dentistry got its start in the Indus Valley of India And Pakistan. “The earliest history of treating tooth related problems goes all the way back to 7000 BC, where the Indus Valley Civilization shows evidence of treating the mouth for tooth decay. The first method of treatment was bow drills, which were ancient primitive tools used for woodworking and treating tooth problems.” (http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2012/12/the-history-of-dentistry/)paragrah1 .These industrious would be dentists were master bead makers who used bow drills to cure tooth problems. From the ancient Egyptians to the Greco-Romans to early Chinese civilizations dentists have existed to aid the people with their teeth problems.
To become a dentist a person would need a doctoral or professional degree. If a person chooses to attend college to be a dentist they need to have a bachelor’s degree. Becoming a dentist begins with achievement of a science-related scholar degree program. Ambitious dentists then attend dental school to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Alumni of dental programs are obligatory to earn state licensure to run-through in the profession. State dental boards need dentists to complete a identified number of current education credits or hours to continue licensure. Some certifying boards want a lowest number of these credits to focus on a exact subject, such as life support or pain running. Depending on the state, dentists may be acceptable to earn a partial number of credits through online courses.
