HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
The very first manufacturing plant that Alkaloid grew from was of the ownership of the family Ognjanovich. At the very beginning, there were only 2 manufacturing plants, worked on by a total of 15 employees (of whom only one had a University Degree) to produce 350 kg of pharmaceutical raw materials. The factory extracted an industrial branch not only locally but in the entire region. The main production was in making opium alkaloids (morphine base extraction).
The main reason for the opening of this factory was because of the quality of the Macedonian opium poppy heads, locally known as “black gold”. Back in June 1945, by the decision of the government-at the time known as the Federation of Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia and of Peoples Republic of Macedonia, the factory became nationalized. Alkaloid continued to grow, making it one of the first successful industries in the Republic of Macedonia.
Due to specificity of its production, among the first years after World War II, the factory was of great significance and went under the direct jurisdiction of the Main Directorate for Medical Production in Belgrade.
On October 31st 1946, Alkaloid registered as a state owned factory for producing alkaloids. The factory’s title remained until 1950, when it shifted from federal level to the General Directorate for the Chemical Industry in Macedonia. At this time, significant steps were taken to expand manufacturing, increase production, modernize technology and improve the level of qualification of the employees.

Alkaloid Botanical Unit:
Alkaloid’s Botanicals section produces a range of teas with brands such as Good Nature, Good Nature Energy for healthy foods, Good Morning Good Nature, spices and dried vegetables, fruits, seeds etc. One interesting fact about Alkaloid is the fact that their tea producers look at tea as an art where they collect one or more herbs to provide harmonic and unique blends.
The advertising budget was increased 0.5 million to convince them Allround is the best. “Chest congestion” was removed as it was perceived by customers as ineffective. We added “minimize side effects” to target families. We increased benefits and reminder to emphasize the changes to benefits, and remind customers of our brand. We chose Dryup as the comparison because it has the best brand perception for effectiveness. We increased the Point of Purchase to attract customers, so we decreased Newspaper Coupons. We created a logo and advertisement for Allround, and chose Facebook and Twitter for the Special section.
As each product has its own unique segment, target market, and symptoms relief, those differences are going to be essential to promote each product value to prevent cannibalization. Thus the best advertising agency was selected to provide us the best response.
What we conclude from our research that there’s no single organization free from facing complications and difficulties. Each and every organization face few or many strategic problems. Johnson & Johnson had a problem with one of their products, and they were smart in handling that problem to keep the company on the safe side without letting it effect it negatively. It is very important to act quickly to fix the problem before many consumers notice.
...ied latex form from the opium poppy seed pod? Traditionally the unripe pod is slit open and the sap seeps out and dries on the outer surface of the pod. The resulting yellow-brown latex, which is scraped off of the pod and contains varying, amounts of alkaloids such as morphine and codeine. Which is the base for a lot of pharmaceutical supplies due to that? Afghanistan could be the capital base of medicine in the world if they led the way towards progress and let themselves be globalized by foreign countries.
The drug trade is a very large and complex system. There are many different organizations involved at different levels. There are groups that operate only in growing and selling the product, and only groups that buy and distribute the drugs. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of two of the largest growers and sellers in the drug trade: The Cali Cartel of Columbia and the Tijuana Cartel of Mexico.

MDMA was discovered at the end of the 19th century when the German company Merck was interested in developing substances to stop abnormal bleeding. The scientists of Merck discovered a plant that contained the important compound hydrastinine, however it became rarer to find; therefore, Merck was interested in looking for alter...
The first law against drugs was made in year 1908 in Canada called the Opium Act of 1908. In the year1850 onwards there were many Chinese immigrants coming to Canada through British Columbia .These Chinese immigrants were a cheap source of labour to Canadian government. The consumption of opium by the Chinese immigrants was another way to gain income for the Canadian government by taxes on the opium manufacturing factories in1871. In late 1800s an...
Drug use and abuse is as old as mankind itself. Human beings have always had a desire to eat or drink substances that make them feel relaxed, stimulated, or euphoric. Wine was used at least from the time of the early Egyptians; narcotics from 4000 B.C.; and medicinal use of marijuana has been dated to 2737 B.C. in China. But it was not until the nineteenth century that the active substances in drugs were extracted. There was a time in history when some of these newly discovered substances, such as morphine, laudanum, cocaine, were completely unregulated and prescribed freely by physicians for a wide variety of ailments.
...9)7-9). In contrast the current issues and economics of the global trade can be said to be of greater magnitude, as opium has spread and through it's addictiveness it has interconnected and created dependence between it's users, producers and dealers. The product continuously being commercialized and designed for different users preferences, as well as interdependence through addiction defines the mark opium as a commodity put on globalization. One can se traces of the effects of opium in almost every corner of the world, it is clear that the interconnected commodity chain moves through history and across the world. In conclusion of this paper, opium's globalization has been made clear by discussing and comparing political and social, historical and current affairs, showing interconnectedness and interdependence around the globe through it's market and production.

The Greeks and Romans learned about herbal medicine from these early civilizations. They also recorded them in books. We know of these works because they are translated into Arabic. Monks in Europe studied and grew plants for medicinal use. They translated the Arabic and that helped them with the plants. The first drugstores were in Baghdad (which is present day Iraq) in the 9th century (Smith 1). In the 13th century, major trade of herbs and spices occurred in London. Since there were no standards, bad quality herbs and wrong substitutes were often sold. Carolus Linneaus introduced the binomial system of plant nomenclature in 1753 (O’Sullivan 1). This helped identify plants scientifically, which helped to avoid mistakes between different plants.
“Opium is the dried latex obtained from the opium poppy”. (Wiki) . Opium is said to have been in existence since ancient times, and is still produced using ancient methods. .Before opium became a popular substance to abuse it was mostly used for medicinal purposes or uses. Countries such as “Sumerian, Egypt, and India” ( opiates.net). contributed to the national widespread of opium. They found it to be the most valuable form of pain relief. The wide spread availability of opium helped surgeons all over perform longer surgery ,which lead to more efficient and safer medical operations. Alcohol and ethyl were also common pain relievers in ancient times, but many physicians preferred opium because it was less threatening to the human’s sensory organs and didn’t impair their intellectual/motor judgment as much. This was only when opium was used at correct lower dosages. Physicians believed opium’s healing medical capabilities consisted of “resists to poison and venomous bites, cures chronic headache, v...
As I continued to get further into the novel I was beginning to anticipate a disaster that would soon arise. The compounds seemed prone to trouble with a big number of scientists running around inventing new animals such as pigoons and rakunks and new medicines that seemed too good to be true. While living conditions differed from what we live in today the people in the compounds still faced problems that we also face. Drugs, alcoho...
South and Central American Indians made many prehistoric discoveries of drug-bearing plants. Mexican Aztecs even recorded their properties in hieroglyphics on rocks, but our knowledge of their studies comes mainly from manuscripts of Spanish monks and medical men attached to the forces of the conquistador Hernan Cortes (1485-1547).
