In today’s society, over 143 million of children worldwide are growing up without parents (The United Nations Children’s Fund, 2006). This is largely due to homelessness, wars, natural disasters, and disease which produce many unadopted children (Bartholet & Smolin, 2012). Unparented children find themselves at a high-level danger of perception, deficient care, mistreatment and exploitation, and their welfare is regularly inadequately monitored. Many Children without parental care are placed in terrible institutions, where they receive less personal attention and insufficient care environments can diminish children’s feeling and societal advancement and leave them defenceless to exploitation, sexual mistreatment and corporal savagery (The United Nations Children’s Fund [UNICEF], 2006). It illustrates the inequality of children’s rights in society. Adoption supports children’s needs by providing parents and provides a better environment for them than an orphanage or foster home. Adoption is an exceptional method to overrule inequality in current society by preserving the human rights and responding to the aspirations of people without children.
To provide the historical background of adoption, in ancient times and human cultures, children have been moved from guardians who could not be parents to guardians who wanted them for affection (“Adoption History:Timeline of Adoption History,” n.d.). Adoption is a legitimate procedure that permanently gives parental entitlement to adoptive parents. The legal connection leads adoptee to become the licit inheritor of adoptive person and terminates any law existence with the original guardians. Furthermore, Care, love and time of adoptive families can treat developmental setbacks of children. Care, love and time are very necessary for new adoptive children because they come from a different culture, tradition and living circumstance.
In the final analysis, adoption is an excellent method to solve the current problems and both adoptees and adoptive parents can get the benefits each other. Not only assist the children without parental care to become parented children and solve the inequality of children rights simultaneously including adoption respond the aspiration of people without children. If people do not realise to the ethical assistance each other, our society will full of poor unparented children and stress of inequality in our society.
