After my first few months of college, I realized I enjoy being a college student much more than I enjoyed being a high school student. However, the transition between the two extremely diverse worlds, was challenging at first, I found out how to overcome it. Originally, I couldn’t realize how different the two were, but as time went on, I was about to notice the differences. Not everyone is able to be aware of the many similarities and difference. Some differences include: cost, amount of freedom, and reasons why people are there. On the other hand, both high school and college have similar class structure and both require time management. In college, professors will treat their students as adults and nobody is going to force someone to go to class. Professors also don’t tell students exactly what will be on a test. It is up to the student to determine what information from the following chapter(s) could be on the test and to study it. If a student. In college, students are dismissed by the professor. For example, if a student completed a test, they don’t have to wait for everyone else to complete the test, they are free to leave. In high school however, going to class is mandatory and it is very structured. If a student doesn’t show up, the school will call and inform a guardian their child missed class. Students in high school, are pampered. Teachers will extend due dates, prepare students for exactly what will be on an upcoming test, and remind the students of upcoming tests and quizzes. Also in high school, classes are dismissed by a bell or a clock. However, on the first day of school teachers commonly say, “The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do.” The bell indicates that students are able to leave class at that …show more content…

Students want to go to college to further their education. An advancement in education gives students more opportunities. A college diploma helps students not only get a job, but keep it and make more money. College students want to be there because they are able to invest in themselves. In college, students are able to discover new passions, learn more about themselves as an individual, make new friends, and prepare for the future. On the other hand, in high school, students are required to go. According the to Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Compulsory Attendance Law states that a person who has custody of a child between the ages of seven and seventeen, are required to ensure that he or she is enrolled and regularly attending any time of schooling system.
