People spend most of their life getting an education. An education starts with going to elementary school, junior high, high school, and ending with college. Most high school graduates attend college. College is important because it offers more knowledge than high school has to offer. The most important objective in high school and college is to learn. A major transition in a person’s life is going from high school to college. The differences between high schools and colleges show how much time is needed in order to succeed. High school is to prepare people for college, and college is to prepare people for the real world. Some people are able to make the change fast, while others struggle to adapt with college life. High school and college may seem to be very different, but they hold many similarities people do not know about. First of all, high school is the first major step to a higher education. High school is not voluntary, while college is voluntary. People are required to go attend high school by law. The main similarity between the two is the schoolwork. In both high school and college, people go to class. Neither college nor private high schools are free, so people have to pay for them. Even though people have to leave their friends in high school, they will always make new ones in college. No matter if people are in college or high school, they will always have friends. Like high schools, colleges have clubs and sports. The main difference is that colleges have more of a variety in both areas.
