When I was just getting into high school, I jumped around groups a lot because there was not really cliques in high school. The one group that I was in was the football and basketball team group. We also all went to same parties and pretty much went every where in the school with someone from our group. Although all of us had the same physique whenever I noticed myself getting out of that certain physique which was having cut arms and abs. I would force myself to hit the gym and workout to get that physique every day. It not only was to impress the girls but I had a better sense of fitting in when I was in that type of physique. At the time I was very self conscious about myself because even if I saw myself losing that physique in any way I would immediately workout whether that was hitting the gym and lifting for a couple of hours, or doing constant cardio for at least a couple hours to get the physique that I really wanted.
I not only would constantly workout but I would watch what I ate also. I would constantly read every label on a food product to see how much fat I was taking in. I was also kind of self centered in high school because that comes with caring about your physique so much that I thought I had to be the best out of everybody else physical wise in my high school. For me I could not eat any snacks that were over 2.5 grams of saturated fat and the snack I was eating could not contain any trans fats. I also could not eat any deserts either which we would have on special occasions like holidays or birthdays. I even remember I wouldn 't eat cake on my own birthday because I was scared that it would mess up my physique and I would have to work it off. This affected my way of life in many ways for at least two years of ...

...ty to pay attention in the classroom. Which messed up my sleep schedule tremendously because when I would be falling asleep in the classroom it would make me tired when I got out of school, so most likely I would fall asleep. Then at night because I had that nap in the afternoon I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.
It affected me as an individual because I try now to inspire people to be themselves and not follow what a certain group thinks. I realize now that I wasn’t the smartest on doing that because it has affected my growth because since I worked out so much my growth went into building muscle instead of making me taller. Just basically to be a leader and not a follower. If anybody is ever in my shoes that they have to look a certain way to be accepted I would tell them the best thing is for them to be themselves and to lead the group instead of following it.
