Many people think that high school has no effect on your life in the future, but whether or not you were tardy to class everyday could be the reason that you do or don 't get a job. High school is the starting grounds of your life. It has a domino effect on your whole future. If you acquire good grades, you have a better chance of getting into a good college. With a college degree, job opportunities are on every corner. Yes, it is possible to be successful without getting a job, but it is a very hard feat. All in all, high school is the building blocks to a successful life. There are many steps to be taken to find and keep a job, as well as what to do after you have a stable job with incoming money.

Middle School and AVID has prepared me for high school in many different ways. I will use everything I have learned in middle school and AVID in order to achieve success in high school. I have learned skills such as managing my time, organizing my work, and taking good and quality notes. If I use these skills in high school I know I will succeed. I also know that these skills would make it easier for me to reach my goals in completing dual enrollment and receiving at least a 4.0 GPA.
Figuring out if they should find jobs right out of high school or go to college first. Nevertheless, most people are sure that they want to have a better job. Not only one that will pay more, but one they are pleased with, and one that makes him/her happy. Today, practically 60 percent of all jobs in the United States require their employers to have a higher education. Jobs for individuals who only have a high school diploma are decreasing. A large majority of high school graduates work in some type of service industry. These individuals also work in low paying jobs with no position to advance. On the other hand, college graduates tend to have more skills that qualify them for a much larger range of employment opportunities. This makes it easier for them to move up in positions. According to Catherine Rampell, “there are more employed college graduates today than employed high school graduates and high school dropouts put together” (678). Thus, as the economy progresses over the years to come, college graduates will be better placed to find jobs that will offer a larger amount of pay. Therefore, earning a college degree will greatly enhance your marketability as a professional.
2015 was a real turning point in my high school career. I finally started working harder in school and started to enjoy it more. Although the enjoyment came right back down, it was still fun while it lasted. My writing however, has greatly changed. SAT #2 was where I really started having fun. “For Susan was a sinner. She smoked Crack Cocaine every day!” (SAT #2, Nowak) That was the SAT journal that made me realize that writing didn't have to be a chore. However the second half of the year was a little different. I think I started to grow lazy. My previously fine-tuned papers were now pretty much rants. “Pink is used anywhere from romantic nonsense to childish obsessions.” (Gatsby Color Analysis, Nowak) For my Gatsby analysis, my writing was all over the place and covered a wide range of topics. A high school diploma is important to my future like it is for many individuals who have goals and aspirations to succeed in life. A high school diploma is a foundation for basic education before going to college and it's a great accomplishment not too many people get to have. With a high school diploma many educational and professional opportunities will be available to me. The future holds many things, like college. We all know that to get into college you need good grades. Last years acceptance rates into universities were at an astounding low, with over 70% of applicants having atleast a 3.8 or higher GPA. To maintain a high GPA you have to devote alot of time into your schoolwork. Having a job after school hinders a students ability to fit studying into their schedule. School gets out at 2 p.m., a job would be from 2:30 to around 7:30. That's seven hours that you used to work instead of doing schoolwork so that you can get into college and then get a real job in the future. Devoting time to school not only benefits you now but also in the future when applying to college.
1. I encountered the most significant challenge when I moved to Canada in January, 2012. Before I came to Canada, my English grade was very good in China, thus, I thought living and studying in Canada would not be too difficult. However, I did not do well in the ESL evaluation at all, and I was placed in ESL 1 at my high school. Most of my classmates there spoke very little English, and they did not spend much time and effort on studying English. It was very difficult for me to study if I wanted to be their friends and at that time, they were the only friends I had in Canada. However, I expected much more effort from myself. I studied very hard and became the 2nd fastest ESL students ever to complete ESL 1 to 4 in my high school. Today, when I recall what I have accomplished, I think I learnt to trust myself and at the same, success in anything only comes from hard work.

It is very normal to get nervous during an interview, even the professionals who are experienced do get nervous. When one appears to be too nervous, it draws a wrong conclusion to the interviewer. The interviewer will question your ability to do the job. If you slouch, it gives an impression that you are not interested in the position or rather you are lazy. If there is something that portrays confidence is the eye contact with the interviewer (Rogen et al., 2015). Profanities and slang should be avoided when speaking; one should be professional and sound polite. The more polished and confident on appears the higher chances of leaving the interviewer with a good impression of you.
To be better prepared you should bring extra copies of your resume. You never know who all will be doing the interview process, and it would look very great to have copies prepared so that everyone could look over your resume if they would like. Having a reference list ready with names, organizations, and phone numbers will reflect greatly on your effort in being prepared. Knowing what type of interview you will be attending will help you prepare for what kind of questions you will be asked, and what kind of things you will be asked to do. Sometimes, the employer will interview you in a group with others and ask you situational interview questions, depending on the position you are applying for. In this case, you would need to be prepared to answer questions in front of others and not just one-on-one with the hiring manager. Researching situational interview questions and preparing real life responses will help during your interview.
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. Overall my experience of being in Lingleville ISD was a great experience that allowed me to learn a lot not only about the students in the classroom, but also helped me learn a lot about myself. Going in to this classroom I expected to only learn things about classroom management and maybe a few strategies. After spending a few days in this room I learned many other things. I did learn about classroom management but I also learned about content, strategies, organization, lesson planning, and inclusion adaptations. I learned that an inclusion special education student can really thrive being in a mainstream classroom, not only academically but also socially.
