Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) is known to be one of the major sellers in the Personal Computer and technology industry. The company gets its name from the last names of the two founders of the company by the names of Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard (HP Garage Timeline, 2015). The company that was foundered by Bill and Dave, started in a garage, has developed into a well diverse business that specializes software development, solutions, and products, and technology.
After a successful partnership in the late 1930s, Hewlett and Packard incorporated the company “HP” in the year 1947 (HPQ SEC 10-K, pg. 4). This is also when the corporation changed the location from California to the location that it resides in now in the state of Delaware.
Currently standing at a health number 19 in the Fortune 500, HP has developed a strong and diverse corporation. The company got to this number with innovation and development to help growth for the company’s financial health. With printers become a cornerstone of the sales for HP and become one of the first companies to introduce computers to the public, HP started to escalate the growth of the company (The History of Hewlett Packard Computers, 2015).
Through the growth over nearly a century of being a corporation, HP has utilized a sustainability strategy. This as help the company meet its goals, and allowed for the growth that can be seen through the growth on the financial sheets of the annual report for HP (Sustainability strategy, 2015).
Financial Statement Analysis

Conclusion
Through analysis, HP’s growth has stalled recently, but have remained consistent in most of the financial numbers. HP has maintained a healthy consistency from year to year. One major opportunity HP has in improving the financial analysis is through the improved use of their assets. The current ratio is a little low, and the use of their assets more efficiently should increase the ratio to a healthier ratio. As a reputable brand, HP should remain a leader in the technology industry with the consistency the company has.
