As a child I remember playing outside for hours on end running around and playing football with friends. This was until I started playing XBOX and no longer wanted to go outside and play. Another thing I remember as a child was always eating fast food. This combination of fast food and no exercise lead to me becoming obese. This affected my childhood greatly I no longer had the energy to play, I would fail to keep up with the other kids and I developed several health problems associated with my obesity. I was no longer a happy child I became self-conscious and a once outgoing child became an introvert. The video above is a public service announcement about play 60. Heinrichs describes the use of willingness to act as “show the bulb that changing is a cinch, and inspire it with a vision of lightness.” (22-23) This mean showing the audience that acting on the situation will not only be easy but it is also in their benefit. The play 60 PSA creates a willingness to act by saying “now is the time for us all to do our part by donating, give the gift of service, volunteer, help kids in your community be more active and healthy.” All of these things are fairly easy to accomplish and it promises the pay off of happy, healthy children. An example of creating a willingness to act could be your friend asking you to take him to the store. At first you say no because you don’t feel like driving but after he says its is only 5 minutes away and that he will buy you something of course you say yes. Your friend made it easy for you and it promises a pay off. By using ethos, virtue and willingness to act together they ensured that the audience trust the speaker and believes that they share the same values. This followed up by convincing the audience that taking action is easy and in their benefit creates a very persuasive
