Unhealthy Eating Habits

I love and enjoy eating. It just brings a feeling of satisfaction to my soul. I love to cook and try new things. When it is time to eat, I do my happy dance. (Just image me doing the Carlton dance from Fresh Prince of Bel Air but with my neck and hands.) I may eat breakfast twice out of the week. Most of the time in the morning I will eat a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda before going to work or something quick on the go. I am an application specialist. I sit for 6 hours at a desk talking with client about their medical history for life insurance. You would think that when I hear of all the diseases and conditions that people have and go through it would make me alter my eating habits but it doesn’t. I am more prone to having high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cancer due to my family history. My dad’s mother has a total of 13 children and 11 who suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure. I want to live as long as possible so I can to take care of my family. My children are my life. I want to be here to see them graduate, go to college, and get married. I want to see them be successful. If I continue this unhealthy path I will not be able to see this happen. To make these changes I will need to think positive and have will power. I need to start loving myself. The bible says, “As a man thinks so is he.” If I think negative, then things will not get accomplished. I will always have an excuse for everything. If I think positive and believe that I can accomplish my goals, then it will happen. There are several things that I can do to change my diet. Instead of eating hamburgers and fries on the go as my breakfast I can take time to make a healthy breakfast or prepare a healthy meal the night before for the whole week. I can park far from the entrance at work. During work on my break I can walk around the building to get exercise. At my desk, I can do leg and arm exercises when I can. Start buying healthy food instead of sugary snacks for myself and children. Change the fried food to bake and grilled foods. Stop overeating by cutting my portions down and drink more water. I will not call my kids from across the room to do something for me. I will get up and do it myself. I will involve my kids in exercising with me either by walking or doing exercises in the house for at least 30 minutes. My eating habits affect them too. With the improvement of changing my diet and exercise it will improve my health. I know that things will not change overnight that this will be a long, hard journey. But it is beneficial in the long
