The topic of health has a great hold on my life. I myself have seen the consequences of having a substandard lifestyle. For, almost all my life I was classified as healthy. I soon decided at a young age to be active, eat right, and stay healthy, because of the pain I have seen it bring to those who are unhealthy. I decided because I did not want poor health decisions to affect me or anyone I cared about. So leading a healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me. After the Lord himself, my health is our number one priority. So far I have been able to live a good, long, healthy life. I achieved this by placing my everyday duties and responsibilities on three fundamental principles to living: eating right, exercising properly, and enjoying life. Currently we live in a world where the decision between want and need is applied to everything, and health is a prime example of that. We sometimes struggle between receiving adequate amounts of exercise, and eating food that is good for us. Being healthy is a constant balancing act, and as we all can get healthy through a plenitude methods trace back to three basic principles. As I call them the three "E's": eating, exercise, and enjoyment, is what has paved the way for a newer, better me.
This is a subject I rarely speak of, due to the fact that my advice in never truly taken. Unless I am a person who is currently facing health issues, or someone who has had issues in the past, and is recollecting their stories; my input on such topics is often neglected. I feel it though that my input is just as good, if not better than theirs. I see I provide a different perspective, of the stories of someone who has faced the temptations of being overweight, yet always withstood such temptations. For s...

Parents always want what is best for their children. They strive to provide for them, teach them, and to watch them grow into healthy, loving individuals. Despite this many parents continue to foster a habit that may prevent the goal of good health, unhealthy eating. Americans today consume too much fat, sugar, and food in general and its shows; rates of obesity and weight/diet related diseases such as diabetes are extremely high. In order to slow and eventually put a stop to this trend parents need to not only be aware and informed, but also need to take action and institute healthy eating habits from the very beginning.

The majority of people in this society try to exercise and eat right to stay healthy. The problem is that they worry more about exercising and not getting good nutrition. They do not understand that exercise is not enough to be healthy. In order to be healthy, people should be aware of what they eat. This may not be easy for everyone, but one can get support from family and friends in order for it to be easy. Good nutrition is more important than regular exercise because it helps in losing weight, helps to fuel the body, prevent the risk of getting diseases, and helps building muscles.
Being healthy is something that I put allot of emphasis on sense I was young. Sports and training soon lead to a focus on nutritional and now mental well-being. I understand the effects of stress and negativity and have been making strong efforts to both separate myself from the negative elements. Some life changes and a wonderful life partner have made this goal and lifestyle well worth the time investment.

Having a healthy body can contribute to an individual’s overall well being and happiness. In the reading about virtue and health by Gary Ferngren, we learn about the meaning of ‘virtue’ in the ancient world which referred to the “quality or proficiency of men…” instead of in reference to moral behavior (Ferngren 176). The Greeks considered health to be essential to one’s virtue. Maintaining a healthy diet will help an individual perform better. Personally, I find that healthy habits are beneficial and uplifting for the soul. Those days when I eat right and am active, I am in high spirits, I feel good, and I am more motivated to achieve things. According to new US dietary guidelines, most Americans “don’t get enough health-enhancing and disease-preventing nutrients” which is a major problem that is not only physically detrimental, but also discouraging in terms of one’s mental health (Mayo Clinic Staff, “New dietary guidelines” 3). When I feel healthy on the inside, I have greater self-esteem and confidence and this is really important when it comes to how others view themselves or they potential. It also helps to maintain a positive outlook on
Staying healthy and eating right is a lifestyle that many people should consider. A juicy hamburger from McDonalds dripping with special sauce topped with cheese is not exactly considered a healthy meal. Our society today is busy and on the go at all times. It is so much easier to stop and get fast food and then continue on. However, we should stop and think; is it really worth it to not eat right and exercise?
Exercise and eating healthy are two of the most important things you need to do to take care of your body properly. Both exercise, and eating healthy, have many advantages and benefits. They help with multiple things needed throughout your life. These things include growing physically, mentally, and if you are religious, spiritually as well. All of this adds up to your body functioning in the highest and best way possible.
