State major events - Major events are those revolving around, leading up to, and resulting from the conflict or major problems in the work.
1. Spartans' (super soldiers, highly advanced warriors, specially bioengineered and technologically augmented, the best in the universe - quiet, professional, and deadly) completion of training camp on the planet REACH (human's last station of defense to stop the covenant from finding the location of earth) After the completion of the training camp the Spartans were used for their main purpose, to protect and save human civilization on earth, by acting as the humans' secret weapon against the enemy.
2. Battle at Sigma Octanus IV (coordinates for an area in space) This battle marked the first major victory, in a space battle, for the humans over the Covenant (alien race intent on wiping out human kind)
3. The final fall of Reach The overrun of the planet by the covenant forces. Reach holds the location of earth in its historical library of mankind, and the covenant will stop at nothing to retrieve this information.
4. Master Chief's (Spartan 117) final mission The master chief boards the covenant spacecraft that holds the location of earth and fights through hoards of covenant infantry to locate and destroy the information that contains earth's location.

Spartans
John, Spartan 117, or Master Chief: He is a great leader, he is always on task, and he dedicates his life to his missions.
John has always succeeded in every mission no matter what the cost. He has only lost a fellow Spartan in battle under his command when it is the last resort to further increase his team's chance of success, but every time a fellow Spartan has been lost it was because the Spartan volunteered to risk or give his life for the mission at hand. This shows that his teammates have the same view on a mission as he does.
Kelly: Kelly is the fastest Spartan there is. She is just as dedicated to her work as John is. Each and every other Spartan also is as dedicated to their work as their leader John is. Although she is a female she considers herself equal to any other male Spartan.
Kelly tries as hard as she can to try to take part in each and every mission and she also tries to volunteer to lead a squad of Spartans in any mission.
Some people call Space “The Final Frontier” but at one point all land west of the Mississippi was considered the frontier. Humans are curious people, sometimes too curious for our own good, but when we find something new we always explore and why would it be any different with space. When we explore the out reaches of space will no longer seem so small or insignificant. The idea of one day unlocking all of the Universe’s secrets, solely through our own advancements as a people, is what gives me that sense of
Spartan Women prove the old saying, behind every great man is a great women, to be true. Everyone has heard of the Spartan warrior men and their courageous battles. What about the women that stood behind those men, the ones who birthed those men, married those men? Spartan women helped to shape, protect, and form the society that they lived in.
In the city of a Sparta is a statue of a legend that left behind and attributed a vast of history of a king who was recognized and feared by always getting all he wanted even if the methods were deviant. Respected for keeping his head up in the worst of the challenges he faced. The name of this icon was Leonidas, a king from the ancient Sparta who was a fierce leader and showed the world what it needs to gain the respect of its people.
Like most Greek states of the Archaic and Classical Era, the Spartan city-state was a militaristic one. Sparta, however, took the idea to its extreme. In order to become the best soldiers, Spartan citizens had to dedicate their entire lives to the occupation. In fact to be a soldier – a hoplite – was the full infrastructure of Spartan society. John’s quest to be closer to God was phenomenal. I too have had a rocky relationship with my father and like John has had to fight the demons caused by that relationship and atoned for them. It is very important to practice forgiveness. I believe that John has done that. Hatred is a heavy burden to bare, and lead to destruction. I believe through his newfound relationship with God, he will forgive then rebuild his relationship with his father. And has proven to me that he’s embarked on his quest with integrity and dignity.

Achilles would be considered one of the latter; he is a proud and headstrong person who had to fight for everything he received. In The Iliad of Homer, one sees that Achilles initially achieved his first honor on the battle field. His prowess and ferocity in personal combat gives him the appearance of invincibility or i.e. super human, or god like abilities. He is also very short tempered, and takes offense very easily. He would respond with blistering indignation, especially when he thinks that his honor is being insulted.
Spartan society was one of the most unconventional of all time. Men dedicated their lives to war, and women devoted their lives to bearing a strong child. Helots provided a source of labor for the citizens, while the government controlled almost every aspect of Spartan life. Each group had a distinct role in society, and in turn, helped to shape the state’s culture. The fertile lands of the Eurotas valley helped determine the agricultural lifestyle of the state, while the Taygetus mountain range provided natural borders to Sparta. Without any one of these factors or the parts they played, Spartan culture would have been tremendously different, and would not be the legend it is today.
Sparta was one of the strongest Greek city-states to ever exist. They fought valiantly in many wars, all because their strong military force could defeat almost anyone. They were the neighbors of Athens, a city-state that prided itself on their arts and strong government. Sparta’s dominance stems from its long history as a militaristic society. The lives of the soldiers were hard because they had to be so disciplined to last in the tough military schools that all men seemed to have attended from a very young age. Their women were held to higher standards than the neighboring city-states because the men could do nothing but be in the military. Women were given a new level of respect that was not seen anywhere else at that time. Spartan soldiers were the ultimate hoplite warriors, devoting their lives to training as heavy infantry (ancientmilitary.com, 2013).

Girls trained to survive childbirth and bear the next generation of courageous warriors. Boys trained to be heroic soldiers, indoctrinated to rather die for Sparta than run from death. Although this harsh social system allowed Sparta to have the greatest army in all of Greece, it did however poison the minds of the Spartans. The Spartan paranoia of being conquered led to the advancement of military strength, but also led to the neglect of stability within the Spartan community (Richard). Being an individual in a society that rests on human disposability is impossible, and this very flaw prompted the Founders to stress the importance of individuality, memorialized in the saying “e pluribus unum” or “out of many there is one”.

1. Spartacus A Thracian soldier by origin, Spartacus was captured by the Romans and then sold as a slave.
The Greeks were able to repel the overwhelming and seemly unstoppable Persian Empire. They were able to do so because of the victories won thanks to the Athenian navy in the Aegean Sea, the hard fought and strategically important battles that the Spartans just would not give up during and they were able to put aside their differences in order to face the greater threat for the good or their culture. Each major city/state contributed what it was good at. It was a nice display of teamwork.
