Growing up in a small town can have many advantages. One of which is the personalized education that students receive. Growing up in a smaller school, may not all be good, but it aids the students in the long run for a better educational future. When going to school in a smaller community the population of the school may only be 250-300 kids, making the class sizes smaller which equates to a more personalized education. In a smaller community there also tends to be only two schools, there would be no is no middle school. Life in a small town can be difficult, however with the help of parents, teachers and the community it can be a rewarding experience. The smaller town size often means teams have to travel farther to get where most of the games or tournaments are hosted. This requires fundraising, however because of the friendliness of the town it can be achieved quite quickly. However going to school in a smaller community also means that all of the courses that a student may need for post-secondary may not be offered. Or if they are offered, they are not offered in the same year, students may be forced to take a course a year before they are meant to because that set course is only offered every other year. A smaller school does not receive the same funding, so they would also receive less money for new equipment or tools. With less students you may receive a sense of community, but students are not expose to the cultural diversity they may get within in a bigger student body.

There may seem to be many downsides to growing up in a smaller town setting, however it could be believed that what the students are lacking in cultural diversity, and equipment. Is made up by the fact that their teachers, family and whole community are behind them throughout all of the students triumphs and tribulations in their education
