In Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance book, Angela Duckworth shows how grit describes passion and perseverance and identifies high achievers, and why talent isn't as essential as a great many people think. As in the book it explains that Passion is the consistency of objectives held over drawn out stretches of time. Perseverance is the capability to conquer problems and complete what you have started. Angela Duckworth explains in equation of as effort counts twice as in talent x effort= skill in which skill x effort= achievement in which it means the more you put effort the more your skills increase and more you can achieve. They are four components to grit: interest, practice, purpose and hope.

Purpose helps improves grit by in passion as goals are important and perseverance is improved by fighting harder for your goals. Individuals who feel reason in their work demonstrate significant advantages: like satisfied with job, less days of missing work, work more and overtime work.
In chapter 9 talks about last component of grit is hope; hope is power to improve in grit. Hope maintains enthusiasm by giving positive thinking that one day you can accomplish your objectives, and in this way they're worth holding for drawn out stretches of time. Hope maintains constancy by urging contemplating how to defeat problems, instead of simply tolerating them as changeless.
Last few chapters in the book explains to build circumstances of environment that progress in grit and external components of grit is explained in the last part of book in parenting, coaches and culture.

In this article Emily Hanford is taking information from Angela Duckworth’s findings on the research of ‘grit’. Hanford quotes Angela Duckworth definition of ‘grit’ as , “‘sticking with things over the very long term until you master them.’” (qtd. in E. Hanford 1). Hanford also quotes Duckworth’s article to then explain that the, “‘ gritty individual approaches achievement as a marathon; his or her advantage is stamina.’” (qtd. in E. Hanford 1). Hanford is thus explaining that grit is like perseverance; that a person who works hard can achieve as much as a person who has intelligence. The Pursuit of Happyness is based on a true story about a man, Chris Gardner, who demonstrates many aspects of grit. I believe the three main aspects of grit is having the perseverance to keep going, taking action without hesitating, and keeping a positive mindset.
There are two types of people in this world. There are people like students who work diligently to achieve the highest grade possible, athletes who put in hours and hours of practice so they can make the starting team, young adults who climb the ladder to get to the top of their company, and many others doing whatever it takes to make their dreams and goals become a reality. Success in life is related to the achievement of individual goals, short and long term. Success has historically been related to the measurable cognitive functions such as IQ and talent. However in more modern time’s there has been a shift towards the idea that developmental non-cognitive factors, such as grit and self-control, may have an impact on the level of success that an individual achieves. In the article “Grit” Angela Duckworth defines grit as “perseverance and passion for very long term goals” Pg 2. The quote defines grit as consistently working hard toward your long-term goal. For instance, if we see high school students, most of them are not interested in school. They are just waiting to drop out of school and live a simple life, on the other hand, there are some students who don’t want to drop out of school because they have grit for their long-term goals. In the same way, from the moment the readers are introduced to the First WES Moore, he has an inner sense of goodness which manifests itself in his grit. He strives for his goals with determination and courage from his mother. Unlike him, the other Wes has an inner sense of instability which leads him to constantly make bad decisions repeatedly and manifests his grit as negative and unable to make well-thought decisions. The First Wes had grit toward his long-term goals.
