The Greatest Man that Ever Lived
Everyone has a hero in their lives, someone who they look up to: someone very special. This person plays a very important role in your life. As a child, this person teaches you an array of life lessons that stick with you throughout your whole life, from learning how to walk to buying your first home, this special person guides you in all aspects of life. Throughout your journey in life, this idol’s experience and intelligence are the epitome of persona of which you desire as this mentor continues to bestow their wisdom. As life progresses, this is the person that you long to be at all your special events. The day that they are absent, you ache for their presence to share the occasion with; they are the one person who you wish could be there. For me, this person is my grandfather.
Growing up, my grandfather taught me many things. I remember the first time I ever hit a baseball. My grandfather was an avid baseball player who played on local teams around the area. The American pastime was his favorite recreational activity. When he put on his old rugged glove and hurled the ball, it would traverse the plate with the elegance of a Canadian goose coming in for a landing. He taught me how to play the game. He showed me how to concentrate on the ball. Depending on the speed, pitch, and position of the ball, my grandfather showed me when and when not to swing the bat. This is a memory that remains fresh in my head as if it happened yesterday, a memory I will never forget.
Besides playing baseball, my grandfather taught me many other things as I was growing up. He was the one who bought me my first bike and taught me how to ride it. I remember graduating from training wheels and how proud my grandfat...

...d. I remember the days leading up to the tragic event, going to see my grandfather everyday while he was in the nursing home. Even though he couldn’t tell me what he was thinking, I could feel his encouragement and his thoughts. It’s then when I realized that immortality was science fiction, as my grandfather laid in bed completely motionless except for his right frail fingers gripping the soft plush baseball with all the might he had on his last days.
This is the relationship and memories that never fade. This person was a true legend; the paragon of perfection that has been there throughout all the greatest and weakest times. My grandfather kept me strong, gave me advice, and taught me new things for which I could never thank him enough. Everyone has someone who plays this role in their lives, but in my eyes, my grandfather was the greatest man that ever lived.
Grandma taught me how to swim; she was a lap swimmer. When I grew up my cousins, my sister and I taught her how to do a bomb into the water. I bet she was the only Grandma in the world to do that.
I was introduced to baseball by my dad, Mike. He was always trying to tell me about it and explain all the rules but I never really understood what he was trying to teach me. I am a visual learner and have to see and watch to understand what is being taught to me. My dad didn’t really understand until I told him to take me to a game so I could learn for myself. One day he came home and told me he had two Cardinals tickets for that night. I was so excited to learn about the game and be a part of something bigger than me for the first time in my life which was Cardinal Nation. On the way to the game my dad was talking my ear off trying to tell me how the game worked, who the good players are and who the bad ones are, just stuff like that. I had
Baseball was introduced to me when I was 5, I didn’t know anything, I didn’t now to do anything, just to play for fun. It was fun you know, doing what I could, I could hit the ball far. (To second base, I thought, that was far for me when I was 5). I still play it to this day, but this is what changed my life. From playing the game, from watching the pro’s play it. It’s made my family bond together, that’s the power of baseball.
Grandpa Albert has taught me to face my fears in many different ways. When he brought me to hike the mountains, he showed me that I actually do not need to be afraid of heights. Now, it is a refreshing, calm and quieting place for me to go relax and enjoy the fresh air. He has taught me I can be a much braver person than I thought I was. My grandpa has pushed me out of my comfort zone multiple
Can you imagine being an outcast? What about discovering that you are the son of God? How would it feel to have people who you do not even know try to harm and possibly even kill you for protecting mankind? Could you stay strong through it all? One person did not have to imagine this, and that person was named Jesus Christ. Although Jesus went through all these awful things, and more, he still managed to show strength and willingness. These details about Jesus have led to a very obvious question: What qualities does Jesus have that helped affect people around the world? In order to answer this question, two main points must be addressed: Jesus Christ’s Strength; the strength he presented in his personal life, the strength of his followers, and last but not least his willingness to love and forgive unconditionally. Once these points are addressed, it can be clear that Jesus Christ showed an abundance amount of strength and willingness; not only in his personal life, but also in the lives of his followers.
I will never forget the moment I got introduced to baseball. I was 6 years old when I told my mom I wanted to play baseball. We were at my Grandmother’s house for dinner, I was in the backyard throwing a baseball with my cousin. As I was throwing the ball my uncle noticed I had a pretty strong arm. My uncle said ‘’You need to be on a baseball team with that strong arm’’. I kept throwing with my cousin until it was time to eat about 20 minutes later.
If it was not for my grandpa, I would have never thought about golfing. Golfing was his passion. He would play the game with his friends everyday, rain or shine. This man was an inspiration to me. Every time I would go over to my grandparent’s house, my grandpa would let Jordan, his neighbor, and I drive an old crummy golf cart with seats that looked like you were going to sit on a polar bear. Eventually, Jordan would have to return home, and my grandpa would summon me over to a chipped painted building with a bag of golf clubs and a tub of balls. He would ask me to show him my Arnold Palmer swing.
In our lives, we all have that one person that we do not know much about and they are involved in our life and influencing it. That person who is a role model and always wanted to know more about them and what kind of stories behind them that made them that strong, or have the personality that they have now. Many time we start asking people about their lives and how they lived it, sometime asking what they been through in their life. How was there childhood like, in what environment they lived in. That person to me is my grandmother. She is such a strong person and have a really strong personality. She went through many things in her life that will make a montane bow from all the things that went through her life and still stayed strong and
When i was 4 my grandpa took me to the beach on that very day he thought me how to throw net and fish and since that day i've been learning more about fishing and some new techniques. One of the earliest memories I have of my father is when he would take me to the park and we would play baseball. My father was eager to teach me everything he knew about the game, and I was eager to learn. He took it easy on me at first, allowing me to overcome my fear of being hit by the ball. Each time we went back to the park he would throw the ball a little harder. It was not long before I could catch almost anything he threw at me. My father also used his knowledge of the game to teach me to hit a baseball. Eventually, I was skilled enough to play any position on a baseball team.
I remember vividly the weekends at his house. Sitting on his lap, going to wrestling matches, walking down the street or through a park--these were things I did with Grandpa. I wasn't just a kid to him: I was his granddaughter, and I was special. He was special too.
A promise that left me with a beautiful memory, and up to now I remember as if I am reliving it. My grandpa was the greatest grandfather of all, he always took care of his little girl, and even after being gone for so long he still care. I have no doubt that everyone in the family has a wonderful memory, of the man that played with us. It is hard to forget someone so important in your life, someone that gave everything that he was to make you happy. To make the best of who we are. Our parents were raised by our grandparents with similar beliefs and expectations, as were we. My grandfather has influenced my life in numerous ways. I have many memories of him, he has made me laugh through all the fun times that we had together, but he also made me cry. When I was a freshman my grandfather became deathly sick. As the months flew by and I stood by his side, he became increasingly ill. In the early spring of that year my grandfather passed away right before my eyes. That was an unforgettable moment in my life. My grandfather taught me to accept, to accept both life and death. He showed me that life moves on, people you love will leave you and that through it all it only makes us stronger in the end. It's loved ones in our lives, like my grandfather, who are the breath within us that give us courage to follow our hearts.
