The Industrial Revolution was a time in history when society was completely transformed. Beginning in the early 18th century, the Industrial Revolution had a significant impact on people’s lives and surely impacted how society functioned. The Industrial Revolution was a dramatic change from an agricultural to an industrial society. Changes in society were seen through the various new inventions to make life easier: the newly introduced factory system, many scientific and technological advancements, and many more aspects. For example, the factory system was introduced so that the new large and heavy machines being invented could be put in buildings where workers could come and do the work. Now, taking a look at some specific changes in science and technology during the Industrial Revolution, it is quite evident that there were some positive and negative effects. For example, medicine greatly improved during the Industrial Revolution, and all of the new scientific discoveries really helped understand certain aspects of life better. Medicine greatly improved due to advancements in science. Better hospitals and doctors also played a role in the advancements in medicine. These could be looked at as some of the more positive effects of science and technology in the Industrial Revolution. Although, the scientific and technological advancements during the Industrial Revolution had some negative impacts, they also had some positive impacts. Social Darwinism is a prime example of a negative effect of a scientific discovery. It was based on the scientific theory of natural selection. Social Darwinism led to racism and much more. Also, weapons and explosives such as dynamite were invented during this time that were used later on in wars and ...

...at these scientific and technological advancements were both a curse and a blessing. Although there was some racism and pollution, there were also many new inventions to counter that. As Stephen Gardiner said, “The Industrial Revolution was another of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.”

The industrial revolution had mainly negative effects. The industrial revolution was a time in world history that has technically never ended. It is the time when society started to mass produce goods in order to provide enough goods for the booming population. People started to move from villages to cities where factories were looking for workers. New medical advances were made and people began to live longer. While some might argue that industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the increased amount of new and cheaper products, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were the dangerous and sometimes lethal work areas, poor living conditions and cramped housing,

The Industrial Revolution was a major turning point in the 1700-1800’s that still affects us today. The Industrial Revolution created factories that generated poor working conditions, child labor, and spread of disease. The Industrial Revolution was negative. Even though it produced new inventions and things that help us, it killed many people and children that were forced to work. It promised good life, but it did not show it.
The Industrial Revolution was a huge event that changed the life of everyone in many different aspects, it was a time of growth and evolution. Even though at that time the conditions were terrible the benefits came long term, the developments and inventions such as transportation and machines were amazing and made life so much easier. It is true that this caused a lot of suffering to many people and I think this is really bad because they could have made the same thing without all that suffering and in better conditions so we have to thank all those people for what we have now. In my opinion it changed the way of history and without it we wouldn´t have many things that we have now, the revolution was the base for many inventions that we already

... was in command. There were new technology advancements and cultural differences that began. The biggest advancement in technology was in steam power. The telegraph, a new communication medium, was invented. This new technology made communication much easier across the ocean. The industrial revolution meant change. Workers were more productive and more items were being produced, therefore, the prices dropped. This made items available to the poor and not only the rich. The population in cities increased since people where moving to the city to work. With the new inventions, people and society begin to grow and change. The industrial revolution changed our society for better and for worse.
Going to work for a full day isn’t much fun after working fifteen hours the day before! 60-70 hour work days are never pleasant in anybody’s mind. How is it that so many people did this during the Industrial Revolution? Was it because they wanted the extra money? Or was it because they wanted the high political or economic status? For some people these were the reasons, but for most it was because of one concern. Survival! The Industrial Revolution greatly changed the workplace and the proletarians.

The Industrial Revolution was a time of great change and increased efficiency. No more would be goods be produced by sole means of farming and agriculture, but now by the use of machinery and factories. Technology was beginning to increase along with the food supply as well as the population. However, this increase in population would greatly impact the social aspect of that time. Urbanization was becoming much more widespread. Cities were becoming overwhelmingly crowded and there was an increase in disease as well as harsh child labor. Although child labor would be reduced somewhat due to unions, the Industrial Revolution still contained both it’s positive and negative results.
The Blessings of the Industrial Revolution The modern world is extremely reliant on technology, whether it has to deal with smartphones, cars, or medicine. Without the Industrial Revolution, the present day would not be the same. The Industrial Revolution was a blessing for the middle class because production, healthcare, and transportation improved. Industrialization improved the lives of all groups of people in Europe because of the advancement of technology. Lifestyles began to improve due in part to the introduction of efficient machines rather than hand production.
