Many great drivers have risen and fallen in the history of Formula 1. One driver is know to every motorsport fan in the world. His name was Ayrton Senna. The World Champion of 1988, 1990 and 1991, Brazilian Ayrton Senna proved himself as one of the greatest drivers and sportsman until his death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.

Everyone's heard it. “He was the best driver that ever lived”. “Sennas the best”, “The best F1 driver ever”. Nobody ever question Ayrton Sennas skill with a Formula 1 car. Ayrton Senna was born on March 21st, 1960 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His father was a businessman and ran his own car firm. Not a lot is known about Ayrtons childhood, but one thing is known, his racing career began when his father gave him a go kart on his fourth birthday. He practiced for 4 years before he could legally compete in karting competitions. And when he did, it was quite a sight. He won first time out, and would go on to win the Sao Paulo Championship, followed by the National Championship. He would win the National Championship several times, and won five the South American Championships five times in a row. During this time he also competed in several European events including the World Championship and although he never won it, he impressed many people. He certainly stood out from the crowd, he raced in black pants, a white shirt and a bright yellow helmet with a blue and a green stripe, which represented the Brazilian Flag.

In 1981, when he was 21, he started to compete in Formula Ford 1600. He won the championship on his first run. He then moved up to Formula Ford 2000 and won it and eventually won both European and British titles in 1982 and in 1983 won the British Formula 3 title. Senna's first F1 car dr...

People don't realize how much physical and mental effort a driver must have during a race because everything could be at stake during that one last race, “And nobody shall ever forget what that one last race cost the world”-Mika Hakkinen

It would ruin my life if I had to live partially, because that would mean that I could never race again and to never race again, well its as if I had no point to live on this world”
