“A given in classrooms is that students learn what the teacher has planned in different ways. To teach all students in the class effectively, a teacher must take into account the variety of ways in which students differ from one another, and offer instruction that responds to this variety” (Cooper, 2011, p.xvii). One size fits all may work for clothing, but it does not work with teaching. All students learn different and it is a teacher’s job to teach to students in the way that works best for them.
When I first walked into Amanda Stewart’s third grade classroom, I immediately felt comfortable to learn. Amanda’s classroom walls were full of students work, as well as teacher and student lesson notes. Having students work on the wall, makes them proud and excited to complete assignments to the best of their ability. My favorite posters that saw on Amanda’s wall were ones that she made herself. They were just words that she used throughout her lessons to ensure students that learning takes time and practice before they are going to master a subject. One of the key posters that Amanda ...

Graduation Speech On Student Learning

- Introduction Communicating clear expectations is an important part of being a teacher. But, does a posting lesson objectives for students to know the purpose of the lesson really help communicate those expectations. The California State University, Northridge Master’s in Educational Technology cohort, studied this question and the effects posting lesson objectives had on students learning. The cohort hypothesized that posting objectives in the classroom would increase student achievement. This would most likely be due to the expectations set forth in those objectives....   [tags: Education, Teacher, Learning, School]

Graduation Speech : Class With One Student

- Hello, first off I would like to thank you for taken time out of your schedule to listen to our concerns on Thursday. There was an issue today in class with one student in particular, this student started arguing with Mrs. Strandine over Mrs. Strandine once again changing her mind on our studies. This time Mrs. Strandine changed her mind on giving us a take home exam, because all of the students couldn’t agree on a 2 hour window over the weekend to get away from our regular schedules and do a timed online test, instead the test will be given on Tuesday in class....   [tags: Education, Teacher, Laurent Cantet, Want]

Graduation Speech : Education And Education

- Most people can recall an unproductive teacher who they feel left them no profit of knowledge. At the same time, those people can also reminisce on a soulful teacher who advanced their abilities beyond belief. In hindsight, students recognize no two teachers educate with the same methods and ethics. Influenced by their dedication to helping their students, teachers utilize methods of teaching to accommodate their views of a beneficial education for their students. In other views, teachers have their own perspective of a valuable education and the components enrolled with that schooling....   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Student]

Graduation Speech : A Classroom

- I hope to one day form a classroom without divides or lines. I aspire to bring my students together as a whole with a common interest, rather than allowing them to place themselves into categories. My dream is to have a classroom where individuality is expected. Where personal achievement is only second to the achievement of the class as a whole. I will do this by encouraging group work, but not enforcing it. Group work should be an option simply because not all students are ready for that step....   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Student]

Graduation Speech : The On The Grounds That They Are Not Only Invalid But Unfair

- To whom it may concern I am submitting this appeal of my impact scores on the grounds that they are not only invalid but unfair. Since the start of my employment with DCPS I have given an exceptional amount of effort and detail to my work and the influence that I have on the students, families and school climate as a whole. I have attended all of the required training and Professional developments offered as well as enlisting the help of senior members in my field. I wasn’t specifically familiar with the scoring matrix and was assured after my first impact that the scores “did not matter that much” because I am new to the system....   [tags: School, Teacher, Education, Student]

Graduation Speech

- "Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Some stay for a while And leave footprints on our hearts And we are never the same again." As I prepared this speech, this quote came to mind as I realized how many of you have left footprints on my heart over the past four years. I have may wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. I remember embarrassing moments when a teacher misunderstood what I said, and then my classmates teased me mercilessly. I remember a time in math class when a student fell asleep and was tied to his chair and chalk dust was thrown all over him....   [tags: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address]

Graduation Speech

- Good evening and welcome to the commencement ceremonies of the class of 2006. It has been a long journey, somewhere around 18 years, but we've finally reached the piece de resistance of our high school years. I'm not very good at this sentimental thing, so I scratched up a little poem. Ladies and Gentleman, may I present to you, "Ode to the Class of '06." ODE TO THE CLASS OF 2012 'Twas the night of graduation, and under the steeple there were very, very emotional people. Thoughts of the future, thoughts of the past, memories which will always last....   [tags: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address]

- Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I would like to welcome you to Tomatoville's Class of 2006 graduation ceremony. It is a great honor to be speaking to you all. I would just like to take a couple of minutes to point out some things that I have noticed during my time in high school. I always seem to hear complaints about how teachers don't really care about their students. But I think our staff here in Tomatoville disproves that. All the teachers and administrators seem to genuinely care, especially our counselor, Mr....   [tags: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address]

- Good evening everyone. My name is Toyota Moko, and I am an international student from Japan. As the first-ever international student speaker on commencement, I am very honored to be here tonight to be given this opportunity to speak on behalf of the graduating class of the 2003. Born and grew up in Tokyo where speaking English was absolutely absent in my eighteen years of life, one day the life-changing experience came to me. When I was fifteen-years-old, the summer of 1998, I came to America for the very first time for the home stay program through my high school....   [tags: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address]
