My College Experience

In the beginning of the semester, I was expecting a class that would help me transition from high school to college successfully. The course would provide me with the resources I need to help me make the most of my college experience.
It was a class made up of other first year students, which would provide us with the opportunity to interact with students of our year to make connections with. I was expecting to be able to interact with the students more, so I would be able to connect and talk to them, but we had very little time to. But then again, we did have the class early in the morning and majority of the students woke up forty-five minutes before class started. Even with this little interaction, when I saw the few I did talk to, we always greeted each other before going our separate ways. In order to get a good grade, it did require putting in some effort. I wish we could have interacted with the children more, but providing a gift donation and a card, I feel like I did get to make a little difference in their lives. Another thing I did enjoy about the class was watching all the silly YouTube videos from channels like Buzzfeed and Saturday Night Live. While the videos did not correlate with our lessons, they were entertaining to watch and was a great way to end classes. Throughout the course, the class learned about a wide range of topics that are aimed at helping us transition into college smoothly. In our class, we had an awesome peer leader, Sara, who was friendly and gave a nice perspective on what to look forward to and what to look out for in college. Mr. Silver brought in quite a few guest speakers throughout the semester. Each speaker that came in gave an abundance of useful information, as well as valuable feedback to any questions the students
