Eighth grade, halls filled with prepubescent teens trying to fit in, only gets harder from here my younger self. As you become a highschool freshman you will face many changes. High school is where you will spend your next four years and you have to make them a good four. I know many people have bad perceptions of high school, but I am going to give you some well sought out advice that I have learned throughout my four years and I wanna share with you.
Freshman year; since I had already been at Heritage for 6 years it was not much of a change location wise. Be thankful that you aren’t starting high school in an entirely new environment like most of your fellow freshmen are. As a freshman, upperclassmen will tend to think very lowly of you and may even find your presence annoying. Thus going into freshman year do not be shy and quiet. If you are out going and make a bunch of freshman and upperclassmen friends, you will be set for high school. My first day I walked into my Geometry Advanced class with Mrs Levine and I remember being so scared because majority of the class were sophomores, but I chose to be outgoing anyways. Needless to say the sophomore friends I made in that class and many other of my classes turned out to be my friends until they graduated. Plus they come in handy for picking teachers and schedules because they have already taken the classes you are about to take and they have already had those teachers. Just try to find a group of friends you belong with freshman year don’t worry about finding your Romeo; boys will come later.
As freshman year ends and you are preparing for sophomore year, do not worry too much. Sophomore year is by far the easiest year you will have in high school academically. As for non-acade...

...e four years were some of the best. I created bonds will people that I will never forget and I experienced things that some people never get to experience. Take these four years slowly and with a positive mindset because I wish I did so. People will come and go, but those who stay are your true friends. Be yourself and everything will fall into place. Academically, just work to your fullest and try not to procrastinate too much. Every single year counts and in the end you will be grateful for that when applying to colleges. Although highschool for me didn’t go as planned I don’t regret one bit of it, but I do wish that someone had given me this advice before I started highschool because it would have come in handy. Be yourself and do not care about what others think of you. Strut the hallways with the same confidence Beyoncé would and high school will go smoothly.

- ... There was no such thing as secrets or rumors. It was all just public knowledge to all. This, to me, is one of the cons of a small school. The current school that I attend is Mount Pleasant Community High School. It is a class 3A school, and my graduating class has 175 kids in it. This is quite a bit greater than the 22 kids at WACO. At Mount Pleasant, there are many different cliques. There are the band kids, the show choir kids, the athletes, the nerds, etc. It does lack that personal appeal that you receive at a small school, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say this is a bad thing....   [tags: High school, College, Graduation, Middle school]
