Introduction “Facebook was not originally created to be a company. It was built to accomplish a social mission–to make the world more open and connected.” (Quote) GOVFACES was established on Monday, March 3rd in Geneva, Switzerland. To present day teenagers this could be seen as the new Facebook. For politicians the popularity of this site has yet to spark. GOVFACES allows communication to representatives and their current offices. Since this site has yet to become a phenomenon many politicians and people have yet to sign up. Also most of the politicians may not be active on this site. However, like any other social media outlet, they have to sign up. This site like any others has flaws, but also presents great ideas to people around the world. People around the world with a thirst for knowledge, would see the bonuses that this site could bring. With daily improvements this site and some endorsement from other popular sites or mainstream media outlets; this could get the spark it needs to become a global phenomena. This site, like Facebook, needs daily work, but with improvement it could be a very handy place for knowledge. Method GOVFACES has a simple and easy layout. When a person searches through the site to find a politician they are interested in, there is no struggle. One of the politicians, I took a keen interest in was Sonia Alfano in Italy. Despite the simple layout, many of the politicians are inactive. This hinders the site drastically. However, even though many people are not active, there is still a language barrier needing attention. This site has many different countries, in which English is not the primary language. GOVFACES also is not completely globalized. They are only available in the European Union. This c... ... middle of paper ... ...uage on GOVFACES. The language filter would provide people with an easier and faster way to read about politicians. Also, creating the filter to adjust with the use of slang, that other countries use 2. Completely globalize GOVFACES, so each country could make use of this site. Many countries care about what happens in their country before anyone else’s. If this was done, then plenty more people would be interested in this site. Works Cited "GovFaces Launch at The University of Bath." GOVFACES. N.p., n.d.
