The goal at Unveiling Knowledge was to expose hidden truths about a wide array of topics, however health based articles dominate the site as of late. The reasoning is simple, we have collectively become a sickly people largely because toxic chemicals have entered your environment at a staggering rate over the last few decades. Unfortunately, on a weekly or even daily basis, we have to deal with corporations and industries trying to push toxic products on us, spray or release toxic chemicals into the air or dump toxic byproducts into the environment. According to this review published by the Purdue University the fruit 's size can range between 8in to 3ft long and 6 to 20in wide. As crazy as the size of the fruit is, the weight maybe even more impressive: The fruit typically ranges from 10 to 60 lbs but can get as heavy as 110 lbs!!
Another interesting aspect brought up by the article is that the trees stand anywhere between 30 and 70 ft tall. One thing is for sure, you do not want to find yourself under this tree when one of the fruit break free!

The nuts are rounded and can be grouped together at up to 100 nuts per pound. It was evident that the origination was that of an Asian tree species. The tree species had first appeared in North America before the first humans crossed the Bering Strait in about 10,000 B.C. First, the kukui tree is one that can be easily recognized due to its unique physical characteristics. Also, the tree stands out very much because of its silver-green colored leaves that darken with age (World Agroforestry). These characteristics of size and color are very distinguishable from a distance but that is not all that the tree has to offer. Also, the tree contains small bunches of flowers but these are harder to notice (World Agroforestry). Americans should eliminate their regular consumption of animal products and processed foods. The Brazil Nut is the fruit of a tree that grows mostly wild in rainforests. Castanheiro do Para, which is the Brazilian name given to this tree, is found in many Amazonian states of Brazil, Peru, Columbia, Venezuela and Ecudor. It is most pervalent in the Brazilian states of Marahao, Mato Grosso, Acre, Para, Rondonia, and the Amazonas. The tree is enormous, Frequently attaining the height of 160 feet or more. The fruit is a large spherical woody capsule or pod and measures an average of six inches in diameter and can weigh up to 5 pounds. Bryan Walsh, a staff writer for Time Magazine specializing in environmental issues discusses in his article “America’s Food Crisis” how our food is not only bad for us but dangerous as well. The word dangerous could apply to many different things though. Our food is dangerous to the consumer, the workers and farmers, the animals and the environment. Walsh gives examples of each of these in his article that leads back to the main point of how dangerous the food we are consuming every day really is. He goes into detail on each of them but focuses his information on the consumer.

When we think of our national health we wonder why Americans end up obese, heart disease filled, and diabetic. Michael Pollan’s “ Escape from the Western Diet” suggest that everything we eat has been processed some food to the point where most of could not tell what went into what we ate. Pollan thinks that if America thought more about our “Western diets” of constantly modified foods and begin to shift away from it to a more home grown of mostly plant based diet it could create a more pleasing eating culture. He calls for us to “Eat food, Not too much, Mostly plants.” However, Mary Maxfield’s “Food as Thought: Resisting the Moralization of Eating”, argues differently she has the point of view that people simply eat in the wrong amounts. She recommends for others to “Trust yourself. Trust your body. Meet your needs.” The skewed perception of eating will cause you all kinds of health issues, while not eating at all and going skinny will mean that you will remain healthy rather than be anorexic. Then, as Maxfield points out, “We hear go out and Cram your face with Twinkies!”(Maxfield 446) when all that was said was eating as much as you need.

There is research being done on phytonutrients that are also present in orange juice. They are naturally occurring chemicals such as beta-carotene which is what gives orange juice it’s color. They are considered antioxidants, like vitamin c.There is still research being done on the ones in orange juice and what a required daily requirement should be. Potassium ,another nutrient in orange juice, helps with the fluid - electrolyte balance in cells. The juice contains thiamin and niacin, which helps to convert food to a form of energy the body can use. Vitamin B6 is present and helps in the formation of hemoglobin, the part of the red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body.
