As humans go about their daily activities, chances are most are not thinking about just how much they are impacting the planet. People take all our natural resources for granted, people abuse it, waste it, etc. Many people believe Global Warming exists, while many also do not. As someone who cares for the environment, I believe this is a very strong topic that needs discussion, because I am disgusted by the amount of litter scattered everywhere, those who idle their car engines, those who do not recycle, and even those who leave the water running when they brush their teeth. Furthermore, Global Warming is a serious problem and more people need to understand what is happening now and what is to come in the future. Global Warming has impacted the Earth significantly over the years. Global Warming contributed to natural disasters. Global Warming affect us differently today, compared to those in the late 19th-20th centuries.
Global Warming has significantly impacted the Earth over the years. We feel the many impacts of global warming, including the rise in temperature. The current average temperature of earth is about 15 degrees Celsius or about 59 degrees Fahrenheit; although it may not seem like a huge difference, it is compared to the average temperature of Earth being 57.2 degrees Fahrenheit from 1951-1980. The average temperature of the planet has risen a little more than one degree in the last hundred years, and could rise about twice as much next hundred years depending on emission scenarios. The temperatures are rising because of an increase in greenhouse gases. Although that is generally deemed the main cause of Global Warming, human activity is directly causing a further expansion in the increase of greenhouse gases. Even t...

...g, but thankfully more awareness is being raised, and action is being further pursued in attempt to save our environment.
In conclusion, Global Warming is a very serious issue and only becoming more serious as time goes on. It is important raise awareness, and persuade more people to take action to slow down or stop all the effects of it entirely. Global Warming has seriously impacted not only the United States, but the whole world, in numerous ways. It has played roles in all of the historic significant weather events that occurred. Our awareness, issues, and views of Global Warming are vastly different today from those back in the late 19th-20th centuries. Hopefully one day more people can be persuaded to take action in saving the environment. With more people pitching in, it would help to slow down greater or even abolish the effects of Global Warming entirely!

The Serious Problem of Global Warming Essays

- Global warming is a big problem in today’s world and its hindering the quality of life for every species. It affects their habitats and environments. Temperature rises and changing landscapes in the arctic circle are endangering several species of animals. Only the most adaptable will survive. If we fail to cut back on the burning of fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, scientists say during the 21st century earth could warm up to an additional 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit. The first initial problem is ice caps melting which causes a rise in sea levels....   [tags: Climate Change, Argumentative Essay]

Global Warming Is A Myth? Essay

- Scientists say that, the twelve warmest years that have been recorded all occurred after 1998. What is the cause of all this warmth. It is global warming. Live science contributor, Bradford defines it as, “the gradual heating of Earth 's surface, oceans and atmosphere” (Bradford). Most people think that Global Warming is a myth, but the rising temperatures say otherwise. According to the environmental protection agency, “Earth’s average temperature has risen 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit over the past century” (EPA)....   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Oxygen]

Global Warming is Causing Climate Change Essay

- Global warming is the increase in the earth’s atmospheric temperature. Naturally occurring gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and water vapor trap heat from the sun, preventing it from leaving the atmosphere. These naturally occurring gases along with human made hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs), per fluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) are collectively known as greenhouse gases. This essay will explain why global warming is fast becoming a cause for concern and why preventative measures are being taken....   [tags: Global Warming Essays]

Global Warming: Humans Are Destroying the Planet Essay

- Everyone knows that global warming is a serious environmental health problem with its effects reflecting on nature and all of mankind on Earth since the mid-twentieth century – emission of concentrated greenhouse gases, rise of sea levels, melting of polar ice caps, and increase in global surface air temperature. The rise in global surface air temperature causes frequent droughts in dry areas and accelerated ocean warming and hence the rapid increase in sea levels and melting of the polar ice caps....   [tags: Global Warming Essay]

The Debate Over Global Warming Essay

- Global warming has been a highly controversial topic from a very long time and the dispute has separated people into two groups: one group advocating that it is anthropogenic, while the other group credits it being a natural cycle. As more research is gathered, the debate about global warming leans predominantly toward the anthropogenic side. Moreover, this view is similar to the debate over the anthropogenic extinction of the large mammals in the late Quaternary era, which was brought upon by Paul S....   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Climate change]

This increase of temperature is causing drastic changes to be felt throughout the world. Due to global warming we experience a change in seasonal temperatures, breathe in polluted air, put our future in danger, and our only option to counter will be conservation. According to NASA, the Earth’s average temperature is around 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit. That is one degree warmer than the 20th century....   [tags: Global warming, Carbon dioxide, Earth, Automobile]

Essay about Global Warming And Its Effects On The Global Climate

- One of the major problems confronting today’s society is global warming. Everyone is talking about global warming, which is also known as “climate change” or “green is the new black”. However, like Mark Twain once said, “everyone talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it” (1897 P. 8) According to dictionary.com global warming can be described as “an increase in the average temperature worldwide believed to be caused by greenhouse effect.” We are the most responsible for this situation because “…by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil clearing forests, we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere and temperatures are rising....   [tags: Global warming, Climate change, Air pollution]

Air Pollution Is A Serious Problem Affecting Tourism, The Environment, And People 's Overall Health

- Air pollution is a major issue in society currently. During the early parts of the 1900’s and up until the 1970’s all industries went unchecked for the harmful chemicals released into the environment. Since then many “Clean Air” acts have been passed, improving the environment tremendously, reducing the amount of contaminants in our air substantially. Although these “Clean Air” acts have helped our ecosystem immensely, the remnants of the past still haunt us today. In some areas air pollution is still a serious problem affecting tourism, the environment, and people’s overall health....   [tags: Air pollution, Pollution, Global warming]

Essay about Global Warming: Climate Change is Happening Now

- I believe the world is being faced with a serious issue of global climate change due to the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring process in the Earth's atmosphere that warms the planet. Without the greenhouse effect, on average, the Earth's surface would be about 60oF colder. The greenhouse effect occurs when visible light from the sun passes through the atmosphere and is absorbed by the Earth's surface. Some of that energy is then sent back to the atmosphere as heat....   [tags: Global Warming Essays]
