Think about global warming and all the effects it can have on not just the earth but also on ourselves. Global warming has been a major issue for years but what is really needed is to be taking this issue seriously. This has been proven to cause many health problems, destroy different habitats, and ruin our clean air that we breathe everyday. Humans are the main cause of global warming. As a result of global warming, climate change, greenhouse gases, and pollutants have a negative impact on the world. Believe it or not but because of global warming and the climate change there are some positives that it can have for us and the world. For one thing the positives for this are warmer climate would produce the greatest gain in temperature thus would produce longer growing seasons and it would open more territory for farming. Another positive for climate change that you probably have never thought about but makes sense is that the higher temperatures combined with more CO2 will favor in the plant growth and that would provide more food for all of our populations. As good as those positives sound there are also major negative effects that it has on the earth and on us. For instance in 2002, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon encountered there worst wildfire season. Another statistic was in 2003 extreme heat waves caused more than 21,500 deaths around the world. These deaths occurred because of major heat waves. And dry heat is due to wildfires. This could ruin food supply by burning crops that we grow for our food supply. (Weart, Spencer. “The Discovery of Global Warming” American institute of physics (2003-2013). Web). Tackling the CO2 pollution from hundreds of existing fossil fueled power plants in the United States is a crucial step. Global warming and its causes and effects there are things that can be done such as cutting pollution by reducing on fossil fuels and increasing our clean, renewable energy. Not only will this be catastrophic for the humans, but animal and plant life will suffer too (“Global Warming” 4, 10, Than 1-4). The oceans will become more polluted and warmer which will cause fish along with coral reefs will die (“Global Warming” 4). The heat will bring animals to extinction; their migration patterns will be altered, change their diet, and force them to live in different locations in order to find a suitable climate (Than 1). Additionally, the warming will hurt the crop production. Crops have a very specific range of temperatures they should grow in order to maximize their yield, and if the earth is going to be above the temperature then crop yield will suffer. Projections for the year 2050 show...
Earth’s average temperature has increased about 0.8 degrees Celsius since 1880 and another degree could cause even more problems than there already are. Climate change is an important issue to be aware of because it is real and it affects you and the things around you each and every day. Every day animals lose habitats and die because climate change caused there home to burn, or their food sources started to deplete, etc. Along with these, more and more CO2 is being released into the air due to wildfires burning which is causing the atmosphere to heat even more. With the temperature increasing the oceans will become warmer and evaporation and rainfall patterns will change which will affect humans and animals, because we all work together in a system. There are many consequences of climate change like human health issues, and more animals becoming endangered, but the most important consequence is the rising amounts of wildfires.
Global warming is an increasing threat to the Earth and future generations. Global warming, sometimes called climate change, is the name given to the process of heat getting trapped in the atmosphere and damaging the environment. Greenhouse gases cause heat to gets stuck in the atmosphere by trapping the sun’s rays. When the sun’s rays enter the Earth, they should bounce back into the atmosphere. Instead the gases trap them, causing the temperature to rise. In the past the temperature of the Earth has risen slowly and evenly but recently the temperature has risen faster. The temperature of the Earth has risen at least one degree Fahrenheit during the twentieth century. If global warming is not controlled there are serious consequences. People, animals, and plants could be living in an atmosphere that is not suitable for sustaining healthy lives.
over the past century primarily due to green house gases released as people burn fossil
The drought in California is an example of the severity of climate change. The result from this is increased price of water and even food. Following in suit new regulations on how much water each individual can use, and eventually if the drought continues people will be forced to move to an area with more water. Additionally entire species can be affected by global warming. The short but effective rise in sea level is bleaching many of the coral reefs. This is damaging the ecosystem and making it impossible for many of the species to sustain themselves. Many species depend on coral reefs to survive. However, if everyone can make a few changes and be conscious about the effects of releasing CO2 it is possible to avoid some of these consequences.
The negative side of global warming is that it leads to the melting of ice. The world's glaciers, especially Arctic glaciers, are melting faster than new snow and ice can supplement them. During the melting of Arctic ice opens over the dark surface of the water or soil and balance changes reflect less and absorb a greater amount of heat, therefore, large areas of ice melt rapidly (News, global warming). There is evidence, which will support this argument: scientists from the University of California in San Diego investigated satellite observation data for the Arctic for 1979-2011 years. Since the 1970s, the area covering the ice has decreased by 40 % and the region has warmed up to 2 degrees (News global warming). It means, that global warming affects the wildlife and due to the melting of ice flora and fauna dies....
In theory some parts of the world might benefit, from a human point of view, due to global warming. However, at current rates of warming, local ecosystems will collapse and any objective measure of global benefits versus suffering would show much more suffering than benefits gained.
If we could just limit all the coal and fossil fuels that we burn, there will not be so much “greenhouse gases” and it would keep all of that from happening so quickly. There have also been many attempts by the United States Presidents Administrations in order to help slow down the effect. In my lifetime I know that I won’t see anything too drastic happen due to global warming, but there is a chance that my children and grandchildren will. Hopefully they wont.
The subject of global warming is as popular as the president. These both topics have always been hot subjects in everyday life. Global warming is the biggest storm headed in our way. It is also the most important issue of our times. Those ads or public service announcement on TV about global warming might not be the most attractive but the cause behind it is very important. Global warming is one of the major threats our planet is facing. Most scientists prove the fact that global warming is mainly caused by human activities rather than natural cycles. To simplify it, most mechanisms that we use are affecting earth. These mechanisms are created by humans. Therefore, humans are affecting earth.
Of all the effects of global warming, the extreme weather that is taking place all over the world is the most obvious one. Global warming will bring more heat waves, drought, fiercer wildfires and stronger hurricanes. “This intensification of weather and climate extremes will be the most visible impact of global warming in our everyday lives” (75 yrs NWF). Due to rising temperatures, places everywhere will be affected as we get more extremely hot summer days and lesser winters. In addition, as these rising temperatures shifts the cycle of rain and increases evaporation, there will be longer and drier droughts which in turn can lower the water supply for life everywhere. Wildfires can turn out to be even more catastrophic due to warmer temperatures and drier areas combined with accumulated levels of fuel loads in the forest which has built up as a result of decades of fire suppression activities. Moreover, stronger hurricanes are also an effect of global warming as sea levels are rising and heavier rains are falling near the coasts. Overall, global warming is bringing climates that are changing real fast.
In conclusion, many facts point to global warming being detrimental to our world. With scientific predictions, rising temperatures, human causes, drastic climate changes and animal adaptations being some of the more thought about topics it`s hard not to agree that our world can not continue to be used as it is. Even with some scientists arguing against the topic, our Earth`s orbit changing the temperatures before and have been through hotter and cooler time periods the pros still outweigh the cons. This is why we, as a global population, need to take into consideration the outcome of our planet should we continue to abuse it the way we do. Our earth and resources are not a right but a privilege and we should learn to treat them as such before we no longer have either.
Climate change is a long-term alteration in the statistical distribution of weather pattern over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. The world is currently experiencing drastic change in temperature. This change can be felt in the tropical climate areas where the weather is getting hotter and hotter every day. The change in global temperatures and precipitation over time is due to natural variability or to human activity. It is also caused by accumulation of greenhouse effects (Arrhenius, 1896). Should we as humans let this problem worsen? Climate change will affect everything including humans, flora and fauna, and the environment.
While this may contain some truth, most believe that the causes of aerosol, fossil fuels, and the greenhouse effect are the reasons for global warming. These causes can easily be reduced if we take the time and effort to halt the action. Simple actions can be made that will not have a severe effect on our everyday lives. Al Gore once said, "The good news is, we have everything we need now to respond to the challenge of global warming. " We have all the technologies we need, more are being developed but we should not wait, we cannot wait, we must not wait.”
One of the most substantial problems in the world today is global warming. This gradual warming of the earth is in occurrence at an extremely slow rate but it is happening. Many scientists believe that as human’s work and release greenhouse gases into the earth’s atmosphere, it can become dangerous for the long lasting life of humans and our environment. “Unless we take immediate action, the impacts of global warming will continue to intensify, grow ever more costly and damaging, and increasingly affect the entire planet - including you, your community, and your family” (“Global Warming Impacts”). Everyone should be knowledgeable about global warming and the dangers that it brings to our planet. This essay will examine
The Centers for Disease Control have been involved in studying global warming's effect on human health. Its affect on the climate can adversely affect humans. Plagues have been attributed to global warming. An increase in temperature can result in a longer life cycle for diseases or the agents spreading them.” Global warming will lead to more precipitation, which enables infectious diseases to be more easily contracted and spread.” (2) Effects of global warming on human health might not be immediately detected.
