Grocery stores and supermarkets are synonymous to fresh fruits, vegetables, and numerous varieties of fish and poultry. The produce you see comes in different sizes, shapes, and vivid colors; all of which looks appealing to consumers. If you were to visit the same supermarket a couple of days later, you might see the same type of produce (that was not purchased the day prior) still look as if it were plucked out the day before. When as a matter of fact, items such as fruits have a very limited shelf life. In other words, if it were ripe, picked, and transported to a market near you it will start to over ripen. The result is a fruit that is starting to show signs of increased aging or rotting making it undesirable for purchase and consumption. To solve this problem, scientist and farmers genetically modified the crop’s genetics in order to produce a healthier crop and slow the aging process; thus, producing a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO).

GMO is everywhere in many groceries stores. To simplify the list of produce that are involved in GMO, one must ask which product is NOT gene...
