Everything in our live have two sides: one is good and other one is bad. It is hard to find perfect things. The genetically modified (GM) Foods like other things have both sides which are good and bad in the same time. Now, GM foods are a big debate if it is good or bad for people’s health. The GM Foods mean food that produced from organic that had specific changes introduced into their DNA using the methods of genetic engineering. Even though GMF are like causing damage environment and original farmers, in general most GMF have some advantages. GM food can provide low cost and it may be lower than the organic foods. It save the time. It provides a good size. It feed more people, especially poor countries.
The other benefits of GMF is the cost maybe lower than the organic foods. According to Christie, Monsanto Company sells the alfalfa, and this alfalfa was GM to prevent weeds from growing in the crops (118). Farmers can protect their farms by using alfalfa. Then, they will sell them for more than one market. So, they will success in their business. This alfalfa is good to protect crops and environment. Even though, there are negative side of using alfalfa. ...ear and they can see the good changed that happened in economic (125). Also, they have evidence for that which is “In South Africa, cumulative farm benefits were $643.4 million from insect resistant (IR) maize (2000–2009), $23.1 million from IR cotton (1998–2009), $4.5 million from herbicide tolerant (HT) soybeans (2001–2009) and $2.5 million from HT maize (2003–2009) (125). According to these numbers I can infer the GMF has a lot of benefits, and it can change the live to make it better.
In conclusion, the advantages of using GMOs are more than disadvantages because it offers a good price and size of crops for consumer, saves time, and feeds more people. So the GMOs solve a lot of issues around the world. Without GMOs how we can live and what will do to solve these problem? The big picture here is that without GMOs are the foods will be enough for citizens or not?
