In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God continued to build His kingdom, and by the sixth day of creation God had made all land animals and human beings. The first humans that were created were Adam and Eve. In the Bible, the story of Adam and Eve can be found in Genesis chapter 2 and 3. Genesis 2 specifically talks about the creation of Adam and Eve. According to the Bible, God made man in His image. Most of God’s creations were made by Him speaking them into existence, but when He made man He did it differently. After forming man in His image from dust of the earth, He then breathed life into him and gave him the name of Adam. Soon after He made Adam, He allowed him to name the animals on earth. The Garden of Eden had all the fruit and vegetables they would want and/or need to live. All they had to do was tend to the garden, and have dominion over it and the animals that lived there. Now, in the garden, there was one specific tree that God instructed them to not eat from. The tree was the tree of “the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” God commanded them not to eat from that tree because they would die. In Genesis 3 the Bible says, the devil appeared as a serpent in the Garden, and began to tempt Eve to go against God’s rule (Genesis 3:1). He convinced Eve to doubt God’s Word. Satan told Eve, if she ate the fruit from the tree she would become as enlightened as God, knowing all of what He knows, and that she would no longer need Him. Satan does this in the modern world today. He convinces humans that they do not need God. Satan being so maleficent, convinced Eve to fall into temptation and she took the fruit from the forbidden tree and ate it. Then Eve brought the fruit to Adam, and Adam also ate from it. At that very moment, sin entered the world and the future of all humanity
First, disobedience causes distress. Life is so much easier when you do the right thing. James 1:25 says, “But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” Adam and Eve had everything they needed in the Garden of Eden. They didn 't have to work, they felt no pain or hunger. All that changed when Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge. They immediately knew they were wrong and hid. Although, we cannot hide from God nor our mistakes, if you do the right thing and obey there will be no reason to hide. "A culture is a people enacting a story" (41), and the story of the Garden of Eden opened up new thoughts on man's transformation from dependent to independent beings. When Adam and Eve began their lives on earth, they fully depended on the gods for all their necessities. Just like all of the other animals in the garden, they followed the philosophy of "leavers" and left the question of who should live and who should die up to the gods. However, the serpent, a member of the "taker" group tempted Eve with fruit from a tree that would give them the knowledge of life and death. Eve, which means "life" (179) in turn, tempted Adam with the fruit. Although pre-warned that eating this forbidden fruit would kill man, Adam fell into temptation and his desire for life. Through this action, his eyes were partially opened to the gods' vision. However, this knowledge ultimately would lead to the fulfillment of the gods' warnings that "[the world's] doom was assured" (166). After man's realization, he placed himself in a category separate from the animals and beasts that continued to rely on the world's situation rather than themselves.
In Genesis 3, the Fall of human beings is described. The serpent asked Eve if there were any trees that Adam and Eve could not eat from in the garden. Eve told the serpent that God said that they could not eat the fruit from the tree or touch the tree in the middle of the garden. The serpent told Eve that they would not die, but they would be open to the knowledge of good and evil like God. Three major books were researched on the interpretations of Adam and Eve and some extra. In the bible it says Adam was made from dust of the earth, while in the Talmud Adam is made from mud, and in the Qu’ran it says Adam was made from soil. The Jewish interpretation of Adam and eve are similar to both the Christian version and the Islamic view. The Jews do not believe in the original sin like the Christians. They believe everyone is born with a clean slate like the Muslims do. Christians believe that everyone is born tainted. Also some Jews believe that Eve was not the first woman and that Lilith was the first woman. These books even though were similar had major differences throughout the story of Adam and Eve.

In the short story, “The Old Testament: Genesis,” the Lord God had forbidden Adam from eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat….” (“Genesis” 54). Adam followed the rules, but however the woman that the Lord God created was tricked by the serpent. “Ye shall not surely die...” (“Genesis” 55). This was stated by the serpent, who tricked the woman into eating from the tree. When the serpent told the woman that she would not die, which made her want to eat from the tree more. The woman knew that she was not going to die, so she didn’t listen to what the Lord God told Adam. Where Genesis I describes a more ordered creation - the manifestation of a more primitive cultural influence than was responsible for the multi-layered creation in Genesis II - the second creation story focuses less on an etiological justification for the physical world and examines the ramifications of humankind's existence and relationship with God. Instead of Genesis I's simple and repetitive refrains of "and God saw that it was good" (Gen 1:12, 18, 21, 25), Genesis II features a more stylistically advanced look at "the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens" (Gen 2:4). While both stories represent different versions of the same Biblical event, Genesis II is significantly more complex than its predecessor and serves both to quantify the relationship between God and his creations and lay the foundation for the evolving story of humankind as well.
The term loss of innocence is an ambiguous term. Most commonly, loss of innocence is associated with virginity. Additionally, lost of innocence can be associated with adulthood. A person is no longer a child, and therefore may view the world differently than they did when they were a kid. As a child they may have been naive, unaware; not yet knowing the bad or evil that exists in the world. The idea of loss of innocence may even be traced back to the Book of Genesis and story of Adam and Eve. In this biblical narrative Adam and Eve experience a loss of innocence.
In Paradise Lost, one of the differences God is aware of the betrayal his creations unlike Frankenstein. There is a point where Adam desires a companion to share the world with, thus God creates Eve from one of Adam’s ribs. He is in a predicament now, due to there are now two beings to love now, but who deserves the more affection. He “can neither love himself adequately nor love Eve as himself unless have love God adequately – and so make his love for Eve, the unity of their shared self, an expression of that higher love” (Gross 95). This scene displays one of Adam’s limitations of his free will. Thus creating her in being the submissive which eventually became her downfall, Adam’s and the rest of humanity. Eve is flawed, she has the inclination of self-love, a quality she should not be capable of possessing or acting upon. The only love that she should be expressing is her love for Adam in a way also loving God. This becomes their weakness. Satan learns about this weakness and exploits it as his advantage to enact his scheme. He influences a susceptible Eve, by coercing her into eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. He claims to Eve about the fruit “By the fruit? It gives you life To knowledge by the threat’ner? Look on me, Me, who have touched and tasted; yet both live” (Book 9 l. 686-688). When preparing to study the Bible, beginning in Genesis, it seems only fitting to begin at the beginning of the beginning. Yes, the book of Genesis contains profoundly more information than just the beginning. Genesis contains the beginning of many things. The world, the beginning of time, the beginning of man, the beginning of God and how He deals with His creation on a large scale and on significantly smaller scale. Genesis marks the beginning of redemption and salvation. From the first man to the first nation called by God, God is depicted as one who loves and protects those He calls His own.

There was not any pre-existent matter out of which the world was produced. Reading Genesis 1 discusses where living creatures came from and how the earth was formed. It’s fascinating to know how the world began and who created it all. In Genesis 1 God is the mighty Lord and has such strong power that he can create and banish whatever he would like. His powers are unlike any others. The beginning was created from one man only, God.
