Unfortunately stereotypes are present in every aspect of our daily lives even if we would like to pretend otherwise. A common example of this is when someone is asked to picture a doctor, the first image to come to mind is probably a male doctor. It is something that is almost an unconscious reflex, men have always been at the top of everything. However over the years, gender diversity has become an important issue in companies as well as many different industries. For instance, there was a study about orchestras about how blind auditions helped increase the chances of women being selected for the orchestra. This study was conducted in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1997 by Claudia Goldin and Cecilia Rouse. Before the 1970s the orchestras were historically male and there were no women in the orchestras. Even if the female was better at playing a certain instrument than the males they would not be accepted just because of the stereotype that males were better than females.. However in 1970s orchestras started

There are still multiple stereotyping within the workplace against women which have stopped women from achieving their full potential. This affected so many businesses of how they work and who they hire. Even if women do get hired they often are not in an environment where they can succeed. In the workplace people should be more equal no matter their gender, it is their work that shows their success not if they are male or female. There were many studies conducted to see how much stereotyping influences the way people hire. The results are always the same
