There is a kind of energy that it’s inexhaustible. This means that it’s expected to last for a very long period of time, enough for human life existence. However, this doesn’t mean that it will exist for an eternity. This energy is an energy obtained from the sunlight, which is a natural resource. The sun, every day, is constantly releasing power that can be used in two different ways: electrical and thermal. This energy source is the cleanest one. It doesn’t generate pollution (not atmospheric emissions); it’s a renewable energy fount, indeed. It needs a little maintenance. Some disadvantages of solar power source are that it only works with sunlight. If we stay for a long time period without sunshine, by using solar energy, this will be a serious problem. Hydroelectric power or hydropower is the energy obtained from the flowing water of a reservoir that is released into turbines; when those turbines spin, the electricity is produced. Hydropower is a renewable energy source which its process is very clean. It’s not expensive to get produced, except for the cost of the infrastructure. Some disadvantages are that the obtained energy from these sources is not used for many individuals. Moreover, it has emissions of methane and carbon dioxide, so it’s not as clean as it seems. Not only do the dams and reservoirs create electricity, they also control flooding (Sambu). Hydropower is the least expensive procedure to generate electricity. The sun has been a major aspect of life since the beginning of time. People used many other forms of energy before electricity was discovered. There has been a debate over energy resources for years. Many people are worried about what current energy resources may be doing to the environment. Oil spills and nuclear power plant mishaps have only been a few accidents that have had a big impact on the environment and the people who inhabit it. There are plenty of energy sources that do not harm the environment and are still able to get the job done. Solar energy is one energy alternative that will insure the betterment of the country and, at the same time, protect the natural environment.
Another use of hydropower is pumped storage. In pumped storage plants, water is pumped from low resevoirs to a higher reservoir during off peak times, using electricity from different types of generators. Operators release it back into the lower reservoir through turbines if power is needed. Some power is initially lost, but pumped storage systems can be about 80 percent efficient. Sometimes it's important to meet power demands where hydro plants have an advantage in their abilities when they also have reservoirs. Most plants may only produce hydro power all the time and can't be adjusted when it comes to wanting more power in times of need. Whereas hydro plants with dams save up the water and allow it to flow only during peak times. These peak times can be beneficial to whitewater enthusiasts, but can also inhibit fishing opportunities because of the increased water flow.

Solar energy is the energy from the sun that is able to be captured through what is called solar panels, where these panels are either heated or lit up by the sun creating electricity. - (Solar Energy) Wind energy is harnessed by the wind in our atmosphere through a mechanical process in which the wind turns the blades on a wind turbine. Wind turbines are giant wheels rotated by the wind to generate electricity. - (How Do Wind Turbines Work?) Hydropower generates electricity by using water to power machinery. How this happens is that flowing water is captured by generators or turbines and turned into electricity. It has the similar method in which wind energy is captured through kinetic energy; a process where energy is obtained by an object due to its momentum. These three different resources have an inexhaustible energy supply. If these resources are unlimited then why aren’t they implemented more into our use? A few contributing factors are that renewable resources are not always reliable, the cost of using renewable energy is too high, and we can 't store up the energy produced by renewable resources. If the sun isn’t shining, wind isn’t blowing or if there’s no water flowing we can’t rely on these resources unlike fossil fuels which we can store up. Using fossil fuels is actually cheaper than using renewable resources. It cost more to generate electricity from the resources and no one wants to pay more for their monthly utility bill. The electrical energy that we use as consumers comes from power plants that then convert other types of energy to electricity. The most common way this is done is from burning fossil fuels. The only benefits to this method is the low cost and the growing demand for oil, natural gas heating, and other products refined from fossil fuels. Therefore, the Earth’s surface is receiving, on average, about 197 W/m2 of solar radiation annually. This amount of energy received is roughly more than 10,000 times the amount of all energy humans consume per year. This energy can be used to produce electricity or heat. This energy source is not being used to it’s potential considering how much effort would come into effect to store and transport this energy.

Everyone has been accustomed to the bad image of nuclear energy as a result of the Chernobyl and Fukushima incidents above all others. The popular belief is that radiation from a nuclear meltdown is very harmful to humans and other living things—which is true—and that nuclear power plants are very dangerous and not ideal—which is not.
