The wind whipped down the quiet, darkened street, rustling the decorative trees that lined the seldom used road, it tugged at decorative neighborhood banners and blew branches to and fro overhead, causing their shadows to seem like grasping claws as they danced across the brick facing of the apartment buildings he passed by. He shuddered and pulled his trench coat closed, the grip on his brief case tightening. The fox moved swiftly, a paranoid air about him as he tried to keep a low profile, not look behind him, simply wanting to reach his contact, hand off the info and go home to his wife and child. His eyes caught something as it flickered overhead, he looked up and swallowed nervously, his pulse quickening, then in that same moment slowing as the only thing that looked back down was that white pearl like orb in the sky. He looked back to the road and to the alleys he walked by, his heart thudding against his rib cage like a prisoner demanding freedom. With an eerie, blood chilling moan the wind ceased, leaving an eerie calm in its wake, a grim silence save the noise of his dress shoes scuffing on the worn concrete. The area was lonely, too lonely this night and it felt as if all things that woke and frolicked in the dead of night were watching him, as if they were an execution were to be held, and he was the attraction, and he felt as if these unseen eyes craved amusement, blood. He felt his blood freeze as something darted past, he swore he heard a girlish giggle and smelled a waft of the faintest almost earthy and erotic of scents. He darted his head left, right and swallowed a lump forming in the fox's throat as he held the brief case tighter, his paw pads starting to ache and sweat from the grip. "J...just the wind,... ... middle of paper ... ...side scattered clothing and picked up the case. A girlish giggle was the Umbreon's only reply as her body shrank as she finished placing her skirt back on, giving the figure a peck on the cheek. "He was cute, I wanted to have a little fun you big meanie! Besides, you wouldn't be telling me how to do my job, now would you?" the tone was playful but carried a tone of dire consequence should she not like the answer. He hmphed a bit as he looked the contents inside over, "And for once, it didn't take weeks for you to do what was asked, even more commendable, you didn't eat what was needed. "Of course, I'm awesome like that" her voice called out, the male looked about only seeing a pair of white eyes smiling at him from the darkness. The moon overhead flickered as branched crossed over it, and then she was gone, leaving only the lone male walking off into the night.
I stared into his face, feeling a sense of outrage. His left eye had collapsed, a line of raw redness showing where the lid refused to close, and his gaze had lost its command. I looked from his face to the glass, thinking he's disem...
On the bank of the water, the lifeless trees swayed heavily in the enduring winds. Clouds could be seen not far off in the north, reclaiming the sky rapidly. The mood was changing swiftly as dusk descended dashingly on the hills of the Gabilan Mountains.
The rain cried as if the heavens had torn apart and came down to Earth to show its sorrow, beating a gentle yet violent tattoo on the roof. The cool breeze blew fiercely through the shelter sending a shiver down Liesel’s spine, awakening her from her slumber. She peered through the rotten sheet of linen that barely covered her shrivelled, thin body as the sound of little feet and nibbling rustled through her ears. Not of the children, but of mice, eating their way through her pillow; an empty potato bag. She heaved herself up, and staggered off the cement floor, wondering if it was wet or stone cold. Her head spun as she stood for a minute leaning against the mouldy walls to get her orientation back.
...n running again. The traffic around him thinned as he closed the distance, and the street became desolate and broken. Dave looked around. He saw his office in the distance, and the bustling and busy street that he had left behind. Down the road in the opposite direction it was just as busy, but here, between the two thresholds of civilization, it was deserted. Dave starred at the lamp for a long while. It sat there, flickering, and nothing else. Finally he stepped in the light. It was immediately cold. The snow picked up and swirled about him in a frenzy. He gathered his jacket about him, and began shuffling toward his run down office. He was more tired than he had ever been, and he was glad that it was night again.
Norwegian comedy talk show hosts, Ylvis, have been known only locally in Norway until they released their accidental hit, "The Fox". Released as an "anti-song" to add humor to their evening show, Ylvis became one of the fastest well-known bands that has gone viral via YouTube. The song originated as playful way to show the general public's lack of knowledge of basic animal sounds. While the song’s genre could be classified as comedy, “The Fox” did peak at number 6 on the Billboard’s Top 100 for three consecutive weeks shortly after its release as a single on September 3rd, 2013. “The Fox” is not only a fun and whimsical but throughout the song the artist explores various animal sounds as well as characteristics of the fox and is ultimately trying to answer the age old question of how a fox communicates.
“He said he can handle the watch.” Vax rubs the tips of his ears to warm them, then crawls in next to Trinket and drops Trinket’s paw across his chest, prompting a pleased rumble from the bear.
I am forced to eat my dinner outside at the table. As I sit outside i decide it is peaceful enough to make some observations for this essay. As i look out into my backyard i see complete darkness the only light is the light shining in from the house and the bright, warm, and white light glowing off the circular moon. I feel a cool breeze that chills my neck, I pull my jacket up over my neck and take a sip of my warm hot chocolate i made inside. As i observe our _____ tree in my backyard i can hear the faint rustling of leaves and see them twitching on the tree. I can only see a silhouette of the branches in front of the moon. But this is all i needed to see, i felt content. I can hear a faint howl of a neighbor's dog and quit a sound of my own dogs paws walking on the cement. As i glance up towards the black thin telephone wire i see a small innocent creature running along the wire. SIlently it scatters over the tree and leaps onto the tree without a noise. It was a rat making its way around without a single noise. The beauty of the silence this rat maintained is un describable. Suddenly i am hit with another gentle cool breeze causing my feet and toes to feel stiff. I rest my foot on the cold hard cement. Despite the cement being uncomfortable i feel secure and safe. The cement feels unbreakable and strong even in the dark of the night.
A twig popped behind him, and his head flew around. Only to be greeted by more darkness and the thick mist that had formed out of nowhere. His breathing hastened, and he clutched his
It was a gloomy night, the moon and stars seemed to be hiding away, lurking behind the thick mist that was carried through the marshes, and who could blame them on a night like this. The bitter wind was swiftly blowing, creating tiny water ripples throughout the mire. The air was fresh and clean this night, and all was as silent as could be.
It was a crisp night in mid autumn. Outside of the unlit houses wind tore through the city, rattling the windows & doors of creaky houses, and waking many who were peacefully sleeping just moments before. The few attentive enough to take notice of it were still blissfully unaware of what had just occurred.
A spark of light cracked across the sky, a bolt so bright, it must have lashed down from the heavens. Little beads glistened above, iridescent crystalline gems falling, tumbling down from a cinder-gray cloud. Like glass seeds, Raya thought. Twilight in the shape of tears. She strained her hand up, so heavy as though made of brick. Like glitter, stars spilled from the cloud and tapped against her lip like frozen berries.
Inhale, exhale, pushing another breath into the ether as he slid his arms behind his head, cushioning him as he felt his eyes close in the stillness of the night.
The silver moon suspends in the velvet sky, glowing dimly. Moonlight travels through the yellowish leaves and sheds on the land. I see the obscure, indistinct shadows of the trees are swaying on the floor letting me have the illusion of thousands of devils dancing slyly in the night, planning some evil trick. The hazy mist surrounds the street making it more mysterious and attractive, and the bright...
I looked up at the black sky. I hadn't intended to be out this late. The sun had set, and the empty road ahead had no streetlights. I knew I was in for a dark journey home. I had decided that by traveling through the forest would be the quickest way home. Minutes passed, yet it seemed like hours and days. The farther I traveled into the forest, the darker it seemed to get. I was very had to even take a breath due to the stifling air. The only sound familiar to me was the quickening beat of my own heart, which felt as though it was about to come through my chest. I began to whistled to take my mind off the eerie noises I was hearing. In this kind of darkness I was in, it was hard for me to believe that I could be seeing these long finger shaped shadows that stretched out to me. I had this gut feeling as though something was following me, but I assured myself that I was the only one in the forest. At least I had hoped that I was.
The sun was still below the horizon but the clouds above the mountains were tainted the color of pomegranates. Around me the shadows seemed empty. I tried not to look into the brush as I walked down the driveway. I had stopped before, looking to see the back of the shadows; staring hard, only to have them retreat from my eyes indefinitely. Invisible birds called from within. Their sound followed me down the driveway and onto the road.
